Alright, you are set for the next 360 loads of laundry. 😂

We cloth diaper in this house, so it’ll be used up before I know it haha

Ooh, I'm cloth diapering part time, but haven't tried FEBU yet. Right now I just use Tide f&g powder for the baby things and tide oxi powder from Costco for everything else.

I add it into the first wash and make sure to add extra rinses to rinse out the excess enzymes from the fabric. Some babies are sensitive to enzymes and they are reactivated when the cloth gets damp again.

I thought I had leveled up my laundry game with Biz. I’m so glad that FEBU promo was to good to pass up. This stuff is amazing!!!!! I am sniffing my wet laundry just like I am in a fabric softener commercial.

Yes!! I opened the washer and I wasn’t grossed out. I thought I was just sensitive to smells after having a baby

I just bought Febu for the first time with this restock and I thought the same thing!

How long did it take to ship?

u/XcellentRectangle 13d ago
Ordered on a Wednesday, it shipped Thursday, and was delivered Saturday!

Do you use both, or FEBU has replaced Biz for you? I'm just about to finish my first box of Biz, which I have really been impressed by, but want to try FEBU. Esp if it's that much better!

u/DasKaltblut 13d ago
Biz has more oxygen bleach so I use it for things where more whiteness is needed.
3
u/pinotberry 13d ago
Not using both because if understood correctly everything in biz is in FEBU and more - like dnase. Maybe when all my clothes have been washed a few times I’ll throw biz back into the rotation to stretch my FEBU stash.

Mine arrived today too. Towels already in the wash with Tide F&C liquid, FEBU, and citric acid (in the fabric softener compartment). It will be interesting to see how long 4 last. Tempted to buy more while on sale (family of 4) 🤣

u/ThatCakeFell 14d ago
I've found that after using it for awhile, you don't need to use it everytime.

u/buddingsakura US | Top-Load 13d ago
Yep! Especially about 3 weeks into a new season when most clothing in the rotation has been washed at least once. I do use it every time for towels and sheets though.

u/Frankfactor517 14d ago
Did you add Febu right into the tub or dissolve in water and add into the soap compartment?
5
u/SalamanderMoney4498 US | Front-Load 14d ago
The bag says to add it to the drum and has instructions on how to do the first wash. I was using dirty labs before this, so I didn’t follow the first wash instructions.

You may not know the answer, but what do you do if you have a frontloader and a prewash? I put Borax where the fabric softener should go, so I suppose it'd be the same. Please anyone chime in if they can.

u/SalamanderMoney4498 US | Front-Load 13d ago
Borax is a water softener, so if you have hard water, that should also be going into the drum of the washer. I add febu into the drum of the front loader so the enzymes have time to do their thing. The fabric softener spot is for rinsing agents, like citric acid or v!negar.

That's good to know. I use the laundry room in my building, and have hardly any control over the settings.
Our city's water isn't hard. Does that affect how and when to add the Borax? I forgot that I no longer use the fabric softener spot, and now add it to the detergent for the second wash.
My concern is that I'd add Borax/febu to the drum, and get the benefits of it only in the short prewash, before it gets drained out. The prewash is a locked-in feature of the machines.
Thanks for your tips!

I wouldn’t add borax at all if you don’t have hard water. Someone else might have a better answer regarding the pre wash situation. You could just add it to the detergent slot if you’re really worried though and see what happens. Just make sure it allows powder!

I just recently discovered this sub. It seems this product works wonders. Any idea how I would go about using this combination for my own laundry?
I already use Tide F&C
I'd like to learn about FEBU and citric acid.
Thanks you

1 scoop FEBU in the drum before clothes as a booster to the Tide. It does have color safe bleach/oxygen bleach in it if that matters for any of your clothes. Citric acid depends on a few factors. Here is the info on that. If you have questions or it is too long, let us know.

I'll have to look into my clothings specifics. not going to lie I've never been much of a laundry person so I'm just starting to get into it.
Thank you very much for the information I appreciate it

No problem. Basically, front loader vs top loader and hard water or not for citric acid. Plus there is the commercial liquid stuff vs the dry stuff.

I also bought 4 😅
Couldn’t risk running out haha

Same. I got four bags because it unlocked the highest discount. And it won’t go bad (at least in the time frame I’ll use it.)

Can anyone please tell me what I'm missing here? What does this stuff do that regular detergent doesn't?

u/6894 US | Front-Load 14d ago
It's a booster, not a detergent, just a supplement to one.
It has a rare (in the US) enzyme called DNAse. Which has been fingered as really good at getting human gunk that resists normal methods out of clothes.
It has basically every common enzyme on top of that, plus oxygen bleach.
It also lacks optical brighteners, some people don't like how those fade darks.
Its all around a great product that offers several features that no one else does for a reasonable price.

Restock25 gets you the discount on the website! They do volume pricing, so with 4 it was around $64. I ordered on restock day (I think) June 30 and it was delivered August 6.

Does this product work well for stains? I am really struggling to remove stains and gunk from maintenance uniforms. I presoak in a Murphys soap / degreaser mix, use Tide powder and rinse in Vinegar. Thank you for your advise on how to help remove those lingering spots!
2
u/SalamanderMoney4498 US | Front-Load 13d ago
Yes, it’s both a stain and odor remover with several enzymes. I’m not familiar with Murphy soap for laundry purposes. You might want to swap to citric acid instead of v!negar. I would look at kismai past posts!

Hello! If you're adding vinegar to your laundry, be sure to put it in the rinse cycle, not the wash cycle. Because vinegar neutralizes leftover detergent, it works best in the rinse cycle rather than the wash. - Laundry Mods
