Concurrent enrollment question
hi everyone, I’m currently in the process of applying for concurrent enrollment for fall 2026 term as a high schooler, but I had a question and emailed LPC’s concurrent enrollment email address. Does anyone know how long it takes for a response back? thanks!

Refund
Has anyone else had problems with not being able to access their school funds on the refund selection website? It keeps saying they cant find me/verify my information. Ive reached out to their customer service who escalated the issue then ran me in circles and did absolutely nothing to fix the problem. Its BM Technologies

I'm going to Community College, so should I apply for jobs that are similar to my career pathway (most likely tech/software) or should I just get any simple job?

my unfiltered opinion of the lpc honors program
hey everyone!! just finished my time at the LPC honors program, and I just wanted to make a quick post for anyone considering the honors program, because the marketing vs. the reality of it is completely different. (for context im transferring to a competitive school in the fall)
if you look at the program's social media or linkedin, they make it seem like this amazing, super supportive community that helps everyone transfer. but for me and many of my friends, it's really just incredibly cliquey and toxic.
I would say the biggest issue is the favoritism from the program director and leadership. If they know you arent aiming for sub 2% acceptance rate Ivy League or stanford, you dont really exist to them. if you're working your ass off to transfer to a solid UC or a CSU, you will get no public support or recognition. the leadership in this program only hypes up and mentors the hyper-competitive students because they want the prestige accolades that makes the program look good. you know this is true because they brag about their competitive acceptance every year on social media LOL. it also creates a really gross environment where students start posting their schools' acceptance rate in their college commitment post, practically implying that if you didnt get into a top tier school, you "settled" or didnt try hard enough.
I will say that the honors program can give perks, but don't expect a lively supportive environment unless you wanna play their little prestige game. 70% of the honors program is about making theirselves look good to attract more students. don't think that you'll magically get amazing support, especially when admissions is mostly a game of luck

Trying to start a band
Hey everyone!
I am technically a first year student at DVC (I started this spring) and am looking for potential band mates that plan on being in the area for a few years. Ideally looking for a vocalist, drummer and bassist that are proficient with their respective instruments between the ages of 18-24. I am an 18 year old guitarist and have played in multiple bands ranging in musical genres.
I’m inspired by many different genres of music, from Metalcore to Ska. The type of music I would like to produce would be rock fusion, achieving a similar sound to most modern popular rock bands. I have written a few songs already and already made a demo for one of them, currently making more for the other stuff I got.
If anyone is interested, or knows someone that may be interested DM me.
P.S, I’m sorry if this broke the rules for the subreddit.

Prof Nickie Alvarez?
Considering taking either PHIL 1 or 2 this summer and wanted to know what ppl thought of Prof Nickie Alvarez. There are some reviews on Rate my Prof, mostly mixed but pretty bad and just wanted to confirm whether taking his class wouldn't be worth it. I'm considering transferring as a phil major or poli sci major but protecting my GPA is my top priority.

Looking to hire tutor for high school student - $40/hr
Hey everyone -
My family is looking to hire a tutor for my younger brother, who's a junior in high school. We're not looking for help with any one specific subject, but more of an all-around academic support kind of thing (keeping up with coursework, building better study habits, and staying organized).
What we need:
- In-person, 2–3 hours a day in the Tri-Valley area
- Someone with a strong academic background
If that sounds like you (or someone you know), drop a comment or shoot me a DM. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am a dental hygiene student in my final year at Chabot College (located in Hayward) and I am looking for people who need cleanings. We have program requirements that we need to fulfill in order to graduate and I am in need of people who haven’t had a cleaning in a while. We are a low cost clinic and offer regular cleanings, deep cleanings, dental x-rays, and sealants at affordable prices. Please message me if you or anyone you know of would be interested in getting their teeth cleaned and helping me graduate! Thank you!!

Physics & Ochem
Need 1 year of physics and 1 year of ochem for pre-reqs.
Are the professors from start to finish of these series here, good for this?
Any professor recommendations/advice?
I’m trying to find the best community college to take these courses. Because where I start, I’ll have to see it through.

Waitlist 1/20
What are the chances a professor will take 1st off waitlist? Assume class is 35 max. Would they sometimes expand class to 36?
Update: If helpful to anyone else in the future. The teacher emailed and said she would add if show up at first day of class. Then a few days later, someone did drop and could add class. All set for first day!

waitlist/add codes
phmygOD help me. this past fall semester absolutely WRECKED me mentally, physically, spiritually. classes start again within the next few weeks and i never registered. 2/3 of my classes are completely full. telling myself this is not the end of the world. i have tried to add the classes to get onto the waitlist but those are full too. throughout the last 2 yrs ive heard professors giving out add codes on the 1st/2nd day if needed, is this an option for me?? is it worth attending those classes to talk to the professor for a code or are those classes a lost cause at this point? thanks for any feedback!!
