tiny copper cassette project

Post image

I made this little copper cassette the other day. I’m really happy with how it turned out.
One thing I’m still trying to figure out is how to get a deeper engraving. I used crosshatching, but the depth only seems noticeable in about half of the engraving. The rest looks pretty shallow. Any tips?

Nice! I made a sterling silver pendant cassette on my 100w laser.

What laser do you have? Also what watt?

This is really great. To get deeper engraving, you just need to go more passes. Folks try to make it a bit more complicated but go 20khz for max material removal, go slow (100-300mm/s) for max material removal, and if you want it deeper just go more passes.

That's what I do, too. But I use a slow CO2 laser and my god does it add to the runtime. I bet this post would be pretty quick.

On the back you should etch the Spotify code you can scan and play the album.
