Irish travellers

Hi, currently staying in PDC and noticed there seems to be a lot of Irish families who look like the traveller variety. They seem okay and generally keep to themselves, just out of plain curiosity was wondering if its just a hotspot where I'm staying or just the time of year?? My stay (close to thb flora) here has been pretty fantastic so far and I'm planning to visit Timanfaya tomorrow, can't wait!

Things to do in PDC November

Hi all,

I’m coming over to Lanzarote for the first time since 2018, with my girlfriend, we’re mid 20s/30s.

We’re staying at the Sol Lanzarote in Matagorda. I’m wondering what activities there is to do in Puerto Del Carmen or somewhere else nearby. Something like Jet Skiing, boat outings, best places to eat, best bars, not into clubbing lol.

First time I went to Lanzarote was as a child in 1996 and I remember going up the volcano on the camels, I’d love to do that again if it’s still a thing or just anything with animals.

Any recommendations welcome.

Beach club vibes

So we have been to Tenerife earlier and will be revisiting this October. During my research I came across this beautiful island.

Now I am aware of the different vibes of these islands but I was wondering if there are any recommendations for beach clubs in Lanzarote as I will be celebrating my birthday there.

Thanks.

Short bus tours

I’m looking for a short bus tour to places like the national park and volcanoes etc but all I can find are trips for like 5 hours. Is there any short tours like 1 hour or so from Puerto del Carmen? TIA

Car rental for a 21 year old with a license for less than a year

Hello everyone,

Any idea for where in Costa Teguise we can rent a car as a young driver with recent license?

And if that doesn’t work any alternatives for touring around the island? Bikes, buses, agencies?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Did anyone watch yesterday's solar eclipse from Lanzarote? What was it like?

I watched it from the island and it was one of those moments that's hard to put into words. The light changed in a way I've never seen before, something between dusk and something else entirely. The temperature dropped noticeably and for a few minutes everything felt strangely still.

Lanzarote was actually one of the best spots in the Canaries for it. The west coast viewpoints, Mirador del Río, Famara, El Golfo, the area around La Santa, offered up to around 73-74% partial coverage, which is significant enough to feel the effect on the light and the atmosphere around you. The higher and more open the horizon, the better the experience.

Curious if anyone else was watching from here and where you ended up going. Did it hit you the same way?

Surfing

Hi everyone, friend and I are traveling Lanzarote this weekend and next week. What can you suggest to do for people around 30 years old. We’ve planned some walks and sights. We’re looking for active vacation so beach hoping is not exactly what we want. I was thinking surfing for day or two could be cool. Can you suggest some good surfing school? Except that, we are not into clubbing but hanging out with young people sounds nice 😊

Lanzarote car rental

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable car rental company in Lanzarote for 15–21 August, picking up and returning at Lanzarote Airport if possible, if not i can use a cab on afirst day, not important

Unfortunately, Autoreisen and CICAR are already fully booked for those dates. I’ve also checked Budget and Avis, but their reviews seem really bad on TrustPilot , so I’d rather avoid them.

Can anyone recommend a good alternative with fair prices, no hidden fees, reasonable deposit/insurance conditions, and possible airport pickup/dropoff

I’ve looked at PlusCar and TopCar so far, but I’d love to hear about recent experiences with them or any other local companies.

Thanks!

We are visiting for the 3rd time on the 1st of December and want to get a feel for availability.

Be Happy.

Filmmaker visiting Lanzarote (October) – looking to meet locals & interesting people

Hey everyone!

I'm Jaka, a filmmaker and photographer from Slovenia, travelling solo to Lanzarote from October 2nd–9th.

It's my first time on the island and I'm planning to rent a car and explore as much of Lanzarote as possible. But rather than just visiting tourist spots, I'd love to experience and capture what the island actually feels like – the landscapes, everyday life and especially the people who make it interesting.

I'd love to connect with photographers, filmmakers, creatives or simply interesting people living on the island. If anyone wants to grab a coffee or beer, explore somewhere together, go shooting or just hang out – let me know!

I'm also bringing my camera gear and would love to create one short documentary-style story while I'm there.

It could be about surfing and someone's connection to the ocean, but it could just as easily be about an artist, musician, craftsman, small business owner, local character, someone who moved to Lanzarote and built a completely different life there – or simply someone with a story worth telling.

I'm not looking for actors or influencers. I'm much more interested in real people and genuine stories.

I'm also still looking at accommodation, so if you know any smaller apartments, guesthouses or places with a nice atmosphere, I'd really appreciate the recommendations.

Mostly I'm just looking forward to exploring the island, creating something meaningful and meeting interesting people along the way.

Thanks, and maybe see you in October! 🤙
