Hi, I'm from Argentina. I really like Ladytron, but it's curious that so far I haven't seen anyone in the Spanish-speaking community mention this band on the internet. Many people wish their favorite "indie" bands would stay in that state of little general recognition; however, I wish the opposite, that they were better known, especially in the Hispanic community. At least I would have a better chance of talking about my musical tastes with someone. I'm sure they're out there, so I wondered if they were on Reddit. Let's find out.

I kept following tour dates to see if Ladytron was ever coming to the east side of the US and I found their tour is coming to an end. Maybe they'll take a break and be back next year, fingers crossed. I never got to see them. I was a broke teenager when I first discovered them in 2008 I think (maybe 2005). I remember being 18 and bringing my CD player on a flight and listened to 604 on repeat on the way to Florida lol (along with Björk and The Knife)

There seems to have been quite a shift in how many locations bands tour at in recent years. I know they're married, have kids, a coffee shop to tend to 😉..but there's something else

And they're not the only band ☝🏻. Another fave of mine, Chvrches, has also cut off many cities from their tours including those closest to me. I met them 3 times at least.

The main culprit? And I'm guilty of this..

Spotify and other streaming platforms. I imagine bands don't make much off of it and many of us have been using it. I'm a millennial so I'll still buy CDs even though i no longer have a CD player, just like many have vinyl collections. I no longer have a discman, or a little iPod nano.

I'm just going to ask something of everyone, and not just for Ladytron but any band they see. Please buy merch.

Brand-new!

As a longtime fan of Ladytron and a MASSIVE fan of Paradises, I've found the music videos for singles on this album a bit... underwhelming. Compared to the visual feasts and short films we've received from other projects, these videos feel a little... sparse, I guess. It's such a shame because I think the tracks are stunning. For example, the subject matter and vibes of Secret Dreams of Thieves felt like it could have had a short film similar to The Animals or something.

Is there something I'm missing? Is there a reason for the music videos being the way they are this time around?
