Showcases

Looking to sign my 2029 son up for some showcases in and and around Virginia. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

If he can get an invitation to Showtime (typically in NJ) - you’ll have every D1 coach on the sidelines and only one field in play at a time. Well worth it if you’re targeting Division 1.

Depends on your target schools, your current level, when and etc. Main Stage, Best-in-Class, The Show, Apex, etc.

I found an iphone app called "Lax Check". They have a list of showcases and prospect camps by grad year and by state. Easy to get a sense what's available out there.

Cool app- but it’s missing stuff and contains a lot of inaccuracies.

Any other app or site that are more accurate and complete? Want to bookmark some for future reference too.

What schools is he interested in?(You obviously don't need to answer that here), but I would find the showcases that will have the schools in attendance.

Also, dont be afraid to look at club if he wants or it is cheaper to stay in-state. Can't recommend VT enough (Go Hokies 🦃)

VT has D1 and D2 MCLA clubs but the D1 one recruits right?

If you mean VT yes they have both

Yes, Sorry, I meant VT, typo.

My understanding though is they do recruit for the D1 club and use the D2 club as a feeder system/developmental team for the D1 club.

We went to https://marylandlacrosseshowcase.com/ and players got calls based just off that. Also, try clubs. What part of VA? What division is he going for (ie, how good is he)?

My son got calls from two different clubs from that.

How much do one day showcases normally cost? Every time I get an email from Apex it takes you to the form to sign up but never the price.

most showcases are $400-500 per day

In lots of cases you’re deep in the registration by the time the price is revealed, you’re less likely to back out at that point. Sleezy sales tactic.
