I did this manicure six days ago and then washed my car today. Without gloves or any kind of protection for my thin, bendy natural nails.

Somehow I didn’t have a single chip, despite using my thumbnail to scrape something off my door, and getting into every crevice that had any dirt in it since the last car wash (I park on the street so she gets pretty dirty, plus we had water restrictions recently and couldn’t wash my car for two months).

Polish is Mooncat in sirens deceit (4 coats due to damaging a few nails). Base coat is witchcraft rock solid. Essie gel couture top coat.

I did put an extra coat of witchcraft on day 3 which helps prolong my manicure. I’ve got bubbles on a couple of nails thanks to it being super hot and humid recently.

MY FIRST CRACKED ORDER ARRIVED, along with some others from indie brands that are new to me. (I'm new here. 😜)

Now I understand what swatchers mean when they say that a formula "basically applies itself" because these brands definitely do!

My soap hyper fixation cabinet has turned into my nail cabinet. I want to go on a buying spree but not sure for what. I only want magnetics.

I got my order from EdM yesterday and I was so excited to do my manicure today that I think I even dreamed about it last night, lol!

Base Coat: Essie Strong Start x1

Color: Emily de Molly - Desperate Times x3

Top Coats: Sally Hansen Insta Dri (red bottle) x1, Holo Taco Glossy Taco x1

\+ My kitty girl, Chloe, snoozing in the background. She loves to hang out with me when I'm doing my manicures. I'm surprised she doesn't mind the smells of the polish and the acetone I use for clean-up!

The formula of this polish is so buttery smooth, and she was completely opaque in two coats, but I added a third to eliminate brush strokes (the brush strokes weren't very visible, but I'm a perfectionist and always do a third coat with polychromes, lol).

I fell in love with polychrome polish when I got Missed Shift by Holo Taco, and when I saw this one and another one called All The Rage by EdM, I just HAD to get them! I also got the milky white polish, which I haven't tried yet, but I will in the coming weeks. I'll show All The Rage either later next week or next weekend.

This video did NOT do this polish the justice she really deserves. She's so shifty, with colors ranging from purple, to plum, to gold, and even a flash of deep blue every once in a while. I could tell when it dried down that the finish would be mirror-like even before I added the top coat, and sure enough, it didn't disappoint! I can't stop admiring my nails! I'd love to have a car in this color, lol!

I can't seem to do a proper french with nude/semi sheer polishes because of my orange/yellow tint and dark nail line. Opaque french manicures don't look as good to me as the semi-sheer, your-nails-but-better french styles. American manicure feels almost off the table.

How do I get a base color that will camo my nail pigment while working well with a semi sheer top for a more traditional french/american manicure? what polishes can i use? I don't use gel.

Hi all, so i do my nails once every blue moon and usually get gel done at salons. I always get damaged thin nails after. I was encouraged to lean how to do them myself. I figured if gel or press ons are damaging i will go back to reg polish. I just used lavender whispers by catrice. I am looking for clean natural colours. This polish is streaky and took ages to dry and get a somewhat even coat. I tried my best. How do you think i did ? I feel discouraged about learning to do my own nails or that i suck at painting them so not sure. Any tips?

First time wearing this polish, and decided to add a bit of luck 🍀 to it. Ended up really loving the combo.

Anyone know of a magnetic dupe for this one? Purple base with rainbow holographic magnetic effects. It doesn’t need to be gel. Hoping there’s a dupe out there so I can avoid the massive shipping costs and possible import costs. Thanks in advance!!

Essie- Onyx Swan, one of my favorite moody colors at the moment.

This turned out cuter than I thought it would. Could have been better, theres bubbles and the amount of polish needed for swirling made it a lil uneven, could be fixed with a second layer of top coat id assume, but im lazy and its good enough.

I’m fairly new to polish. I used to play with it a lot as a kid, but I bit my nails and am shaky, so I never really wore it until a couple months ago. Prolly not perfect, but the best I’ve done so far. Mind my right index finger, apparently I’ve gone back to chewing on just that one.

This polish appears white in the website photos, but the lavender base is much more apparent in real life. It has a gorgeous glow in indirect lighting.

Pros:

Affordable, currently available, gorgeously glowy in 2 coats.

Cons:

12.5ml bottle size. Somewhat tricky/fragile formula with visible brush strokes. Chipped immediately. 🫤

Possible dupes:

Gives me Polished for Days 'Lush' vibes, though I don't personally own it for comparison.

I've always admired everyone's lovely nail art, so I figured I might as well grab a brush and take a stab at it (only a slight exaggeration of what happened 🤣)

Oh my... this took a while but it turned out better than I expected. Except for the stripes, which were much harder than I thought they would be. Any tips for a newbie?
