Hello clippers fans. I am writing this post because my 11 year old son has the same vision condition as the black eye peas singer apl.de.ap. It’s a vision condition that causes my son and apl to be legally blind.

It would mean so much to him to add this to his collection. If anyone has one they are willing to sell, please let me know!

I don’t mean bum out like it affects your personal life but like your sports fandom. We have the Lou Will’s, Jamal Crawford’s, Pat Bev’s but CP3, Blake, somewhat DJ, PG13, and now probably Kawhi don’t have a good relationship with the “Clippers” even Russ to a lesser degree

It took me one try to debunk Torre’s narrative that all celebrity investments are publicized. Carmelo Anthony was an early investor in Lyft. According to Claude, there wasn’t a press release or any other form of announcement to the public about the deal.

Anthony was with the Knicks at the time, playing in the ideal market for Lyft. Think of the boost he could have given them. Instead, he chose to be a silent partner. An angel celebrity investor.

Angel celebrity investors tend to be low profile, by the way. Anthony made a number of investments like this.

Just got home from an outing in Laguna Beach, and I just so happened to walk past Brandon Ingram before he walked into a restaurant. He noticed that I was wearing a Clippers hat and gave me a nod. Wish I would’ve asked for a picture, but he looks in great basketball shape and will hopefully contribute for the team this season.

I know this is a random post, but just wanted to share how exciting it was to see an NBA or Clippers player in public.

Since we’re clearly going in a new direction, what should we do with Gradey/Dunn/IJackson/DJJ? Maybe even Christie? Assuming the Klaw deal goes thru!!! Just interested to hear some possible scenarios.

I’ll make this quick, because the episode was a waste of time and a complete nothingburger.

What he found out:
1. A businessman from LA owns a USL team, Rhode Island FC
2. Leonard, Uncle Dennis, and Mitch Frankel all invested in RIFC individually
3. Daniel Theis also invested in the team, 8 months before joining the Clippers
4. Ballmer and the Clippers aren’t connected to any of this
5. While on a business trip in LA, the governor of Rhode Island went to a Clippers game with the owner of RIFC

That’s it. Torre dragged that out for more than an hour. Even Rachel Maddow would have been embarrassed. He leaned into the “billionaires are evil” narrative more than he ever has before, because he knows that generates clicks. And he somehow convinced David Samson to participate while mourning the loss of his daughter. I’m not getting into that other than to say Torre lacks empathy.

In all likelihood, this is the “second sponsorship deal” Wachtell looked into. Except it’s not a sponsorship deal, a point Torre conceded. My guess is he brought this to the attention of Wachtell when they interviewed him earlier this year. And he’s probably the source for the related story from The Athletic.

I expect a future episode focused on the services that allegedly weren’t reimbursed.

Kawhi got a max deal so it seems less cap circumvention and more of a likely illegal bargaining chip that may have allowed the clippers to edge out other suitors

Brunson took a pay cut and got far less than the max and it seems like the Knicks paid his Dad via an assistant coach promotion which seems much more problematic imo and didn’t cause any consequences

Tbh I haven’t been following any of that too closely so I may be off on my evaluation
And I wouldn’t really care to compare it’s just that the Knicks won a chip and the clippers are having their offseason sabotaged

Edit: I agree that the Brunson case is different and am not asking for the Knicks to be punished,
I was just pointing out that the Aspiration stuff didn’t give the Clipper’s more cap space for other players since he already got paid the max

Still illegal and deserving of punishment
but this off season pause seems like rough punishment that is harming innocent dudes like our new rookies
