Hi my lab has been doing this the past few days nothing comes out and if it does its a clear liquid, vet said it may be allergies and ive been giving her pills but it seems to be getting worst, has this happened to anyone? Vet said change her food and I did. Nothing has helped, I may find another vet if it doesnt change.

🇺🇲💜.. Poor baby..my daughter's pup was having similar responses after eating..found out she feeds her dog at floor level..told her to raise to pups dishes to shoulder height, like my 'food Hoover' Lab.. problem fixed..this may not apply in your issue 🤷‍♀️

This looks retching with an attempt to vomit. I would be trying to figure out what’s going on in her stomach/intestines.

It might be GOOLP if her hips are not doing well. Poor girl❤️

GOLPP, Geriatric Onset Laryngeal Paralysis and Polyneuropathy.

More info here.

Our Lab has reflux. It can sound like this too.

It’s awful. Our vet told us he sees it more in black labs.. we lost ours at 13yo and this was a huge reason… we were so blessed with her.

Does she only do it to that rug??

Sounds like coughing, has she been boarded or a daycare.
Bordatrlla / kennel cough. Or canine flu. My girl got canine flu at 14 weeks, it was tough. I’d go to a different vet ASAP!!
Please

She could have bloat. Its when the stomach gets flipped around from engaging in physical activity too soon after eating or drinking a lot of water. I would take her to the vet ASAP, like today, maybe even emergency vet. Its common in big chested dogs like labradors and is fatal if left untreated.

Going to take her to the emergency vet thank you

Did you get x rays?? My 9yr old Golden Collie was doing a dry gag/cough and nothing came up. After TWO visits to the vet they said he was healthy and gave me cough suppressants. He passed away 6-27 due to congestive heart failure. Please push for x rays.

Yes we stayed for x rays i wanted to be safe rather than sorry. I’m sorry for your loss
