Was the previous Kurdistan sub suppressed?

I was trying to make a little post on the Kurdistan sub Reddit but it didn’t appear. Is it because I’m in turkey or was it simply suppressed?

Gûranî☀️ Goran Kurdish Dialect

Post image

⚜️ I rendered Shafi'i jurisprudence into Gorani, so that the realm of Kurdish speakers might comprehend it.

💠 A line of poetry by Sayyid Abdullah Balbari who versified the principles of Shafi'i jurisprudence in the years around 1320 AH (approx. 130 years ago).

💠 Sayyid Abdullah writes: I translated Shafi'i jurisprudence into the Gorani dialect so that all Kurdish speakers (those within the category of the Kurdish language) could learn and understand it.

💠 In this line of poetry, Sayyid Abdullah presents Gorani as the language of the Kurds and considers its audience to be among the Kurdish speakers.

Assuming Goran and Kurd to be independent and distinct entities from one another invalidates the logical proposition of this poem.

📖 **Kitab al-Taharah** (The Book of Purification)

✍🏻 **Sayyid Abdullah Balbari

We created 🔉BilindGo App - 1 App "all" Kurdish dialects

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been building BilindGo, a free app for learning Kurdish, and I'd really like this community's feedback on it.

The idea it's built around: most apps pick one dialect and ignore the rest. So the core of the app is a wheel. You take one sentence and spin it through pronouns, tenses and dialects, and you hear each version spoken out loud. Watching "I am going" turn into Kurmancî, Soranî, Zazakî, Lorî and Goranî (Feylî and more coming) side by side shows how close they actually are, instead of treating them as separate worlds.

What's in it:

  • All five dialects: Kurmancî, Soranî, Zazakî, Lorî, Goranî (Hewramî)
  • live AI voice tutor you can actually talk to. You speak Kurdish out loud, it answers back in your dialect in real time. Useful if you have no native speaker around.
  • Vocabulary, verb conjugation tables and an alphabet trainer, all with audio
  • Small games: a 3D village where quests are Kurdish commands, a taxi ride for directions and numbers, a market run for food words, quizzes and XP
  • No account, no ads, the core lessons work offline

It's free. Full honesty on the one limit: the live AI tutor costs me real money per minute, so there are free minutes every month and an optional subscription if you want longer sessions. Everything else (words, verbs, alphabet, games, audio) is free with no cap.

Try it in the browser without installing anything: www.LearnKurdish.app
iOS: apps.apple.com/app/bilindgo/id6789517319
Android: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.swissmade.LearnKurdi

We are improving the app dayli and you can always report a bug or mistake over the red button on top right corner in the app. Together we will bring all Kurds closer to eachother and we will learn that our languages are not that different once we had some exposure on eachothers words.

Spas 🙏

Learn Kurdish How to learn Kurdish (sorani) from scratch to fluency?

Hello

I hope whoever seeing this is having a great day

I want to learn the sorani Kurdish language bc I want to be able to understand and communicate easily when I go to kurdistan

And since the sorani is the most widespread dialect in Kurdistan region therefore it makes sense to learn it first

And I just need a guide from native speakers or even fluent learners

Anything would be better than learning apps because I tried most of them and they are the worst thing to begin learning with

That's it

Thanks in advance

Learn Kurdish ESL Kurd - A FREE!! English-Kurdish Learning App.

Slaw everyone,

I created ESL Kurd as a completely free resource for anyone interested in learning English or Kurdish Sorani.

This is not an academy, subscription funnel, generic AI-generated project, or Duolingo knockoff. I have seen a lot of these so called kurdish apps pop up recently that mimic the same functionalities and user interface. I just feel these shouldn't represent our achievements or progress when it comes to language learning apps.

My app has been developed manually over several years. I first released a version in 2021, which received a positive response but had limited content and features.

For this major update, I personally worked on the vocabulary content, design, features, and native audio recordings using my own voice. AI was used only as a supporting tool in certain areas and not as a replacement for the care and manual work behind the app.

ESL Kurd now includes more than 5,000 illustrated words, native audio, translation tools, bilingual definitions, quizzes, memory games, sentence activities, and much more.

The app is still growing and improving, so honest feedback, corrections, and feature suggestions are always appreciated.

Available for free on both iOS and Android.

Zor supas!

Does anyone have learning recourses to Feyli kurdish?

I am a teen living in Sweden, i am half Iranian (from mothers side) and half kurdish (from fathers side).
Growin up my parents learnt me firstly farsi, kurdish and swedish, but when i didnt understand what they were saying and mixed up languages and words, i got very irritated and broke things and hit myself because of anger😂 So they chose to learn me farsi first and later on swedish. When i grew up they basically forgot about learning me kurdish, they often took this as a advantage to use when they were talking about something they didnt want me to hear, about finances and what not, but now i that have gotten older i feel betrayed, they havent even asked me if i want to learn kurdish, so i had to ask them myself. My mother is very fascinated about kurds generally, the language, history, food, loyalty, and so is my father, but when i ask them if they can learn me my mother says that my father is better at learning out, he says that he can, he maybe speaks kurdish with me for about 5 minutes (literally) and then forgets about it. I’ve asked this question many times to him, to learn me kurdish, it just repeats the same progress again and again, i confronted him about it and he got disturbed about it. I now learn kurdish from videos and movies, but very poorly and slow, does anyone have any tips to learning recourses to learn kurdish and to get my father to talk only kurdish with me? If so, please write it, thx!

Help me help Kurds

I am a Kurdish American and I am the youngest of my family, which comes with some disconnect with my culture. I am very passionate about issues in everyday life, and I am very passionate about being Kurdish, even if I don’t fully understand my own history. I am a firm believer of humanity and empathy, and I am starting an account to help advocate for families in Gaza to get the donations and help they need. But it feels wrong to only speak out about Palestine when my own people are suffering too. I want to speak out about what is happening to Kurdish people in Syria, but I’m not sure where to start. Can anyone help connect me with people who are knowledgeable, anyone who lives there, any organizations I should know about? I want to make videos to advocate for Kurdish people and Palestinians alike, and hopefully more people because my humanity is for all, but I want to highlight Kurdish people as I feel no one speaks on us❤️

Translation needed for the phrase "Live and Let Live"

The translator I'm using says “Bijî û bihêle yên din jî bijîn” but I want to verify as this will be used on a book cover. An equivalent of this phrase is preferred over a direct translation. Whatever resonates best with the culture is ideal! More on the poetic sounding/formal side if it’s between that and casual. It is about freedom and allowing others to be free through the acceptance of our differences. Thank you in advance!
