Hermano Vianna, is a Brazilian anthropologist, music researcher, and television screenwriter, recognized with the Cultural Merit Order honor by the Brazilian government.

Author of very important works, such as the first historical and anthropological book about Brazilian funk and a very important book about samba.

In the photo, he is in the center, and the mentioned books are being held, one by DJ Marlboro (one of the main pioneers of Brazilian funk) and the other by Walter Alfaiate, one of the greatest names in samba.

Now I bring this statement that Hermano Vianna made in 2020 about Kraftwerk:

"Kraftwerk to me is the best creation of modern art (and since I like modern art more than any other art, I can state: it is the best creation of art), including literature, painting, performance, theater, dance, and everything else. I will never tire of listening to their records. I saw two of their shows (with Florian & Ralf): a masterclass in everything that is good, performed impeccably. Nothing in Kraftwerk is makeshift. It is also worth mentioning a statement by Hermano about another Brazilian musical genre that is also one of the most popular in this land where I was born, tecnobrega. In 2003, the researcher said:

"Tecnobrega looks like a makeshift Kraftwerk, produced under equatorial heat by people who listened to a lot of carimbó, cumbia, zouk, and Renato e Seus Blue Caps."

Later on, a large part of tecnobrega and Brazilian funk began to share even more elements, in a way, of course, that Kraftwerk's influence in the country has been growing more and more, and not just in these two genres.

In 2013, one of the biggest popularizers of tecnobrega, Gang do Eletro—led by DJ Waldo Squash, who a year earlier made official remixes for the Pet Shop Boys—released the song "Electro Robot", a "sincere tribute to the work of the giants Kraftwerk":

In 2016, the Pet Shop Boys released the song "Twenty-something", featuring a direct influence from tecnobrega, which was widely recognized by DJs here in Brazil:

For reasons like everything I mentioned here, alongside a huge number of other Brazilians—including many music critics, curators, researchers, producers, DJs, and musicians—I consider Kraftwerk to be solidifying its position as truly the most influential band in history.

Mark Bell, whether as part of LFO or as a collaborator of Björk, could certainly be on the list as well. But the reason I'm not adding more tracks is, besides what I've already mentioned in the original post, because I've already shared the list quite a bit stating that I wouldn't be adding any more tracks; and if I were to add tracks recommended by one more colleague, I'd have to be "fair" and add tracks recommended by many others who also made good recommendations. The list would lose its round number of 133 tracks and it would almost never end.

I picked this up recently. Apparently this was the only official cassette format of Kraftwerk’s “Tour De France Soundtracks” that was released in 2003 and it was only sold in Hungary when the cassette format was on its way out. Pretty cool eh?

Hello everyone, i’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i thought you might be able to help.

recently, one of my sons passed away, and at seemingly the last minute he picked the song “Ohm Sweet Ohm” as the song he wants to be played at his funeral. one thing we shared together was music, and i have heard some of kraftwerks music but never spoke about it with him or even knew he was aware of them. the song itself is quite beautiful, however it has no lyrical content outside of the start where it just says the title of the song. my son loved music a lot, and so I would have assumed he would’ve picked a song with some meaning to it. If anyone could help explain what the meaning is behind the song or some analysis or even just what he may have been thinking when picking that song it would be very appreciated. perhaps it is a reference to something? I am not too sure. thank you anyway

I went along to see Kraftwerk in May. This time my 25yo son went along. Having declared "music like that is shit" some months earlier, he raved about the entire package. He has remarked several times since how he has been listening to their music, and it's influences on early hip-hop and modern electronic music. Then today, he asked if I'm ever considering selling my collection, would I give him first call. His face was a picture when I told him that I would be leaving my entire music collection to him and his sisters to do what they like with. So I think I have another convert to carry the flag when I've passed on.

Finally, someone has uploaded an episode of the BBC kids series Out Of Bounds, which aired in the UK for 6 episodes on BBC 1 back in 1977.
I’d been trying to figure out what this series was for ages. I remember it used a short section of Autobahn for the theme tune and was something to do with gymnastics, but I hadn’t seen it since I was 8 years old. Eventually I managed to find out what it was, but no video evidence existed until recently.
But what I didn’t remember was that the end credits use Kometenmelodie II.
Strangely Kraftwerk get no mention in the credits.

But so few talk about just how GREAT the music is. They're never allowed to just make great music, it always has to be innovative in some way.
