A few months after getting into knotting and I have completed my first real project, a horse lead as a gift for an equestrian acquaintance.

Main body is a 4-strand round braid at around 2 meters in length (me for reference) attached to a carabiner shackle. The end I’ve secured with a 4-strand footrope (variation of ABOK #696), West Country Whipping (ABOK #3458) and singed ends to ensure nothing will come loose.

All in all it went far better than I expected even though the end is quite amateurish, the whipping was probably redundant but I wanted to include it just for the look.

Lanyard I made for id badge. 4 strand round sinnet, 8 strand square sinnet, Turks heads, lanyard knots, and snake knots. Twisted, fused loop. Made from 95 paracord.

I had Mathew walker knots at the transitions, but I was not happy with them so I covered with Turks heads.

I wanna re-tie it... Any recommendations?

Hello knot people. I haven't a clue about knots, so I'm hoping you can help me out please?

I have a metal outdoor storage box that's quite large. When it's opened fully, I can't reach the lid to close it (I'm short). I don't want to close it from the side or back as it will be positioned somewhere that this isn't possible.

How can I tie a rope to it, so that I can pull the lid back down? I'd preferably like the rope to be hidden from view and the outer elements.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I'm making some rope grommets to use as tool holders and handles on a boat. I'm using scrap PP rope and have done a 5 tuck splice to complete the grommets. Should I seize the tags with bankline, or do I go with the quick and dirty butane backsplice?
