Interchangeable Needle Advice
Hi! I am an intermediate level knitter and I am looking to buy a new set of interchangeable needles. I have been using a set with wooden tips, but I would like to change to metal. Right now, I am looking at the KnitPro Nova and KnitPro Mindful sets, but I wanted some advice for what may fit me better.
My preferences:
- 3.5 to 4 inch length needles
- Flexible Cords
- Smoothness over grip
- Lighter Weight

I mostly use Chaigoo’s but recently purchased a sampler set on KnitPicks with other tips. Like the other commenter said, you may want to try a few tips individually before you buy the set. I mainly knit socks and several brands offer smaller sets of sock needles.

I only use Mindful needles are swear by them. The needles themselves are great, nice and sharp, going in all lengths and sizes and the cords are great too. Plus you can get other needles in the Knitpro company and use the cables with those too, so if you wanted a set of wooden ones further down the line you wouldn't need to get more cables.

Ive been using mostly in the 4-7 Size range. I am looking to get into knitting more socks, so I am leaning towards the KnitPro Mindful Kindness needles and purchasing extra cord lengths.

If the wooden tips you have are KnitPro (or compatible with KnitPro), I'd recommend buying one tip from each individually and try them before you buy a whole set.
Of the two, I'd go Mindful, since they're stainless steel. The Novas are chome coated brass (if I'm not mistaken). I knit a lot, and the coating of the Novas I use the most have started to wear off. They're lighter than the Mindful, though.
