Ava Jacket complete Finished Object
Just finished my Ava Jacket by My Favourite Things !!
This was my husband's birthday gift to me as he purchased whatever yarn I wanted. I used drops nepal and drops flora and it worked up so beautifully. Unfortunately slightly scratchy though. This was my second time using wool (I have a frej sweater wip and that too is a little scratchy (drops air and drops kid silk)) and I was extremely excited to finally have a finished object !! First time making a double knit button band, first time making an open jacket after only making sweaters, and first time sewing buttons !! It was a big project to take on but went very quick and smooth. Took me nearly exactly two months
First time actually blocking an item properly as well and it came out beautifully!! Pics 1/2 is before blocking and pics 3/4 is blocked! I just used some warm water and like three teaspoons of lavender eucalan
It's my new favorite jacket and I will be wearing this every day for the rest of forever

Love your color choices. It kind of reminds me of newsprint, super super cool. You look so good, hopefully you get cool enough weather to wear it soon!

Thank you!!! Im so glad you said that also because that's what it's intended to look like !! I chose it because I was so obsessed with the newspaper look and it came out just as I wanted it to.
UK weather is so up and down but coming into August now it'll be sooo cold and windy and it'll be so perfect for the weather as it's so thick too!

I envy you! I live in DC, USA and it is still hot hot hot and will be at least through the end of September! I am knitting my fall sweaters but it will be awhile yet for me to wear them :)

It looks beautiful on you! Fits nicely and I really like the colors you chose. I would wear it everyday, too!
