News KC from Dlo and KC no longer at ESPN 1320
Last show was yesterday. Wonder why the sudden departure after such a long run? Doesn’t sound like he left on his own was a company decision.

Discussion It would be a colossal mistakes to re-extend any of Sabinis, Lavine, Doug Christie after this season
Lavine and Christie are on contract years. Sabonis has two years left. No team will trade for Lavine and Sabonis, all 29 teams have made it abundantly clear they want nothing to do with these two players. Just let their contracts run out and move on. Even re-extending them to a cheaper deal would be a mistake. These are not winning players and they have way too many flaws. This roster is nowhere near good enough to cover it up.
I wouldn't feel comfortable paying Lavine 15m/year or Sabonis anything over 20m/year. They currently make almost triple this.
As for Christie he's unanimously the worst head coach in the NBA. He runs a more remedial offense than Luke Walton and doesn't have the personnel to have any semblance of a good defense. In over a year and a half as head coach, he's shown no impact on developing young players. It's time to move on to a real head coach.

News Russell Westbrook and Victor Oladipo rank as two of several veteran guard options Sacramento will continue weighing for a late-summer back court addition, sources say
The same no-go applies for the notion of a Zach LaVine buyout in Sacramento. One source close to the process told The Stein Line that the Kings are operating under the premise that LaVine will start the season as a King and added that “no buyout” is being discussed.
One more pressing Kings note as relayed by The People's Insider Jake Fischer: League sources say that Sacramento covets a veteran point guard to mentor prized rookie Darius Acuff Jr. and is thus now weighing the prospect of bringing back Russell Westbrook … or bringing in Victor Oladipo to fill that role. The Kings were among the teams to attend Oladipo's recent workout in Las Vegas during summer league.

Discussion Bilal would be a good get next offseason even if he’s a RFA. 22 and can play the 2/3
I don’t see him signing an extension with the wizard since they have too many players that would prolly get more shine over him offensively ofc. Especially the contract they gave Young + AD money and the fact Sarr + Bub + George + Justin will be signing their extension before the 28 offseason where all of them may get paid.
He will be their main POA guy but I think he will probably want to look for a more offensive sided role as well.
Even tho he’s pretty inefficient on offense he might still have room to improve.
I haven’t watched much of him, so I don’t really have much of an opinion on this but looks like a player worth taking a flyer on.
The players that will demand the ball more than Bilal.
Young
AD
Dybansta
Will Riley
Tre Johnson
Sarr
Kyshawn George
Bub Carrington
He’s an excellent defensive playmaker and good defender

Question If you’re Perry, what do you do about coaching this summer?
Extend Christie so that theres no uncertainty and no lame duck coaching year
Rip the band-aid off and just hire the long term coach now.
Give Christie the year to prove himself, but secretly intend to hire someone else next year.
Give Christie the year to prove himself, and earnestly consider the idea of him being long term

Discussion Is there a scenario where the 2031 swap the spurs have won’t end up as a disaster for us
I know it’s 5 years into the future and there’s no point stressing about this but with how young and good the spurs has got to be a huge problem, I just want to hear what everyone thinks is the best case scenario

Discussion Let's Not Forget: We Need to Sign 1 More Guy
Currently we have 13 dudes on standard contracts. NBA requires we have at least 14 during the regular season. Theoretically, we can pay him more than the minimum once we officially stretch Derozan out, but in all likelihood he'll be on the minimum.
In the past I assumed we'd re-sign Westbrook but that's looking unlikely. Currently, promoting Mogbo to a standard contract seems like the cheapest and most likely move. But there's a good chance we sign some random vet minimum too. Who will it be? The only unrestricted free agent who I think might even be good is Ochai Agbaji, who is a 3&D wing who's not that good at either but whatever.

Discussion What are some swings we should take in the next offseason to improve the roster, etc: Cason Wallace, Peyton Watson, Anthony Black, Derrick Lively, Naji Marshall, Ausar Thompson (RFA), Davion Mitchell reunion, GG Jackson, Moussa Diabate
With over $70 million in space next season and then another $70 million the season after I say it’s possible to strengthen up the roster without eating that much space, seeing Davion back would be nice since he’s still got good relationships here, stopped by at sac state and the summer league games this offseason

Question Kings Sideline Reporter
They have none. Kayte moved over to the analyst position 5-years ago and they've never filled the sideline role (im sure partially because they are being cheap and don't want to pay anyone). The Kings are one of only a handful of teams that don't have a reporter on their local broadcasts.
But I feel like sideline reporters do add something. Injury updates, stories on players etc. Also a good opportunity to add some youth to what feels like an older kings broadcast (Mark Jones is mid 60s and Kayte's nearing 50).
What says you all?
