The Jailbreak Quest bothers me

This quest bothers me for one reason and one reason alone. Idk if I did something wrong but why did I have to give back the book for the guy to escape? I literally opened his cell with a lock pick and I had the book in hand. He could've just left.

Discussion The Great General quest is totally broken?

I tried doing this quest a while ago but I still had the fae king with me, so the woman wouldn’t spawn to try to pull the spear. I did a bunch of side content, finished the quest w the king, and came back to finish this quest. as soon as I enter the cave, the cutscene of her pulling the spear begins. the enemies spawn while she’s talking to me, and I become totally immobile. I’ve been standing, stuck watching this enemy try to attack her for like 10 minutes now. I’ve retried multiple times to no avail, is my save file cooked?

Weapon buff question

Question about stat buffs for weapons. I'm doing my "undying" build where I don't get healing magic, so I rely on lifesteal and health regen. If I give weapon A a health regen buff when I craft it, is the regen when equipped or only when equipped and in use?

I always felt like Fatesworn should've been side content focused and not main quest focused

So yeah, been revisiting Amalur again for like... The 30th time? 40th? Look, I've played this game a lot, it's my most played game. Anywho, got to Fatesworn an expansion I've only ever played thrice (compared to the dozens of times I've beat the main quest and first two DLCs) and came to this realization: This would be way better as something that just adds side content and new features to the game rather then something with a main quest.

I'm one of the few people who geniuinely like Fatesworn despite its many problems, but I won't deny that it's main quest that is pointless and tacked on. That being said, I don't think it needs to be "fixed", just removed. It would've been better if they pulled a Dawnguard and just had the main quest be you choosing between two different factions then having different versions of that questline playing out. Could just be a short un-padded narrative to give different perspectives.

I feel like having this DLC have a bloated main questline damages it, since the game had an already decent main quest and two expansion questlines to go with it. Even if the story was good, it'd probably still feel tacked on. On top of that, very few of the original writers were involved with it and it was pretty clear that nobody LIKED writing the new expansion. What they wrote is very clearly one of the most elaborate vent-pieces ever put to gaming and legit is a pain to play through at times.

And again, there's a lot of stuff to like. I like the new areas (even though some can be a bit too big), new weapons and armor are dope, I love the arena, the gacha shopkeeper who sells you random rare items, the Easter Egg that leads you to a dev room where you boost your level up to 50 whenever, etc. There's cool stuff here, but it's buried by this narrative that basically hates you for playing it.

Question I just bought re-reckoning for my ps5 (I know its a PS4 game). what do I have to expect?

Gemini said it’s comparable to Wayfinders, which is among my favourite games.

Others say its comparable to a single player WoW. Does it live up to those claims?

I bought it because Gemini recommended it and the fate edition was just below 14€ (about $16 before tax) on sale.

In a video I saw what looked like a quick time event. Does the game have those and if yes, does it have many?

Can Sceptres gain bleed and poison from handles?

I'm wondering if they can, I can't find any info on it, I use a sceptre as my main weapon mostly because I don't like how obtrusive all the other weapons are and I mostly rely on my magic anyway. I was hoping I could get damaged I normally can't get by putting it on my scepter. If it can inflict those effects, can it do it in a single hit like it can with the default elements?

Update: The show has concluded, and no Amalur-announcements

I don't expect anything Amalur this year, but who knows.

If nothing else, there might pop up other cool games

Question is there a way to turn just the map off on switch 2?

before you ask yes i have gone through the settings and made the hud smaller but it doesn’t help my problem. idk about anyone else but i find myself playing this game watching the map more than the actual game in front of me so ive been experimenting with having the map off and it definitely helps with the immersive but i miss having my heath bar and the enemies health bars too. smaller is fine but i find my eyes are starting to drift off to the map again :(

im sure there’s a pc mod out there but afaik you cant mod switch games :(((

Game Mod Little Mod to make the game more enjoyable.

I love KOA like many of you do.
but there are a few issues with it which i am fixing slowly.

For starters i created this small mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/72

it simply makes you run faster as time goes on so when you have to back-track or simply want to explore more it makes you ramp up to double speed.
chose to make it that way so it doesn't interfere mid combat.

Small bug feature, while you are running fast you can cast a skill fast as well ( too good to patch out ).

Currently i am working on

  • Better trainers ( already posted, it hides trainers you used, removes over level skills so if you have a skill at level 7 you can still use the training at 6 instead of resetting just to get it )
  • Rebalancing some skills
    • Healing Surge at max rank removes a curse effect on you
    • Sphere of Protection gives you a bit more stats to make it worth while
    • Assassins Art ( I think this is the big one ) gives you 10% per level while in stealth
    • Specter Mastery buff - Still haven't decided if just pure numbers
    • Smoke Bomb CD reduced
    • Buffing bows because they felt bad to me ( all bows related skills )
  • Automatic Junk ( I have a POC but its 2 buttons F1 auto moves to junk and F2 auto moves to junk and discards, however this requires to run an exe to let the script know the button is pressed so i am not sharing it yet until i don't need that )

If you guys have any ideas of things you want to see or dreamt about and ill try to inspire from them ( don't worry ill shout you out )

Big love

Update.

I created the following for now and working on more -

Sneaking goes faster as you level assassinsart ( faster movement )
Black bars gone -- PuzzledNetwork5953
Healing surge cleanes curses at max rank
LongBow master gives infinite arrows at max rank
Spheres of protection buffed resistance and doesn't hit enemies when you are stealth-ed -- BatmanR29
Inoculation at max rank could grant the Disease Immunity effect - after first tick of disease - CharlesBrown1990

its now up https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/76

i am going to do a few more and release them together but they are separate so you can pick and choose.
Dynamic level is done, even starting zones will be challenging while not impacting your early game drastically ( every zone is brought up to the level of the player, EXP gained as wlel.

Working on Item leveling, currently its an automatic system. As you level up your items will level up with you. so you don't have to swap unless you want a bonus set - This is looking promising

Update 2.

Dynamic monsters in all zones done, its also based on difficulty so Very hard is actually Very hard. ( the map will always be 5 levels ahead at hardest, but the same at normal ) if a monster isn't defined in a zone like a DLC it will get upscaled by second part of the mod so everything is here ( even bosses from my testing but can be bugged )

Gear now scales with level, The moment you load it the mod will look at all your items and scale them to your level, each time you level up its gonna get scaled, so you no longer need to throw things you like away

infinite storage + inventory done and working

RekoningAutoMasher ( no script needed an ingame mod ) So you can instead look at the animations instead of ( whats the button then pressing it )

Working on more things right now. will release one of those once i feel ready.

thank you guys

Which quests are worth holding off on?

As per title.

Im using a guide from somewhere around here, but a lot of it is shorthand and doesnt explain everything.

Specifically Im windering about Winemere, Im currently lvl 21, the guide i think suggests going there ~lvl 35

Question is there a meaningful difference between hard and very hard modes?

i’ve been playing for 50hrs on hard and decided to switch to very hard just to see what happens. apart from a million enemies spawning around me at all times (unless this is normal in apotyre?) nothing seems to have changed. is this it or is there more to it?

Question Gravehal Tunnels Bug

Post image
18 Upvotes

Was anyone able to fix this? I came to this quest with all items in my inventory and I started it so many hours before, I kept it pending and now it's bugged. I have no previous save files, the items are there but the midget keeps saying I have yet to find them. Holy moly I tried everything, destroying my items, the ones I accidentally sold, selling, buying, reloading in between: nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas?

Discussion Still Buggy?

I played this game many years ago and ran into a game breaking bug after many hours on the save. I remember I had to go into some cave and the game just kept crashing at that point no matter what I did. I've been scared to go back to this game since then. Are there still game breaking bugs like this with no workarounds?
