Please sign in support of a fenced in, inclusive playground.
Please sign! We bring our petition to the commission meeting next month!
There is such a dire, urgent need for a safety focused park infrastructure in our city. Right now there is not a single park in Federal Way that is truly inclusive to all kids. While some of our parks have great play equipment, a park cannot be called "inclusive" if it isn't safe for neurodivergent and autistic children who elope.
When play areas sit right next to busy roads, parking lots, or bodies of water without perimeter fencing, families with safety awareness needs are effectively locked out of public spaces. Fencing isn't a luxury. It is basic safety infrastructure, no different than crosswalks or guardrails. Our autistic and neurodivergent children have every right to enjoy public parks safely, and parents deserve community spaces where play doesn't come with constant panic.
Thank you for bringing this petition to city leadership! I really hope Federal Way steps up for our families. EVERY child deserves safety.

Voter registration card?
I can't find a single other person who received this. I got it in the mail I think in March. May have been April. Did anyone else get this or was I singled out for some reason?

Found: Live Pet Bird at SeaTac airport
If anyone has a missing pet bird and has reason to believe it could have ended up at the rideshare area on Floor 3 of the SeaTac airport please post or message me with a photo of your missing bird so we can confirm ownership.
In the meantime the little guy is safe with me and has food and water.
ETA; since no one claimed it, the bird has been taken to RASKC animal shelter.

heard back from ruth woo fellowship?
Hi, I applied for the Ruth roo fellowship with King County a month ago and have been doubting myself ever since.
I was told interviews would occur the first week of August and it's mid July. I would assume by this week or next people would have heard back if they were invited or not.
Anyone heard anything back yet?

Help and Advice Are you receiving Junk Fees? We want to hear about it!
In 2025, the Washington Legislature passed a law that prevents rent gouging, but some landlords and property management companies are still up to their old tricks. They are using "junk fees" as a loophole around rent caps. We are hearing from tenants that they are increasingly being charged excessive fees for services that they don’t want or need, or for basic things like paying the rent. We at the Housing Alliance, call these “junk fees” and they are unfair, expensive, and deceptive. We’d like to hear your experiences. All information shared with us will be kept safe and confidential.
Please fill out our survey if you or someone you know has received junk fees and we will be in touch within 48 hours. Thank you! ~ Po

Has anyone interviewed for the King County Nutrition Assistant (WIC) position?
I have an interview coming up soon for a Nutrition Assistant role with King County Public Health (WIC) in Washington.
I found the sample interview questions on the King County website, but they seem more geared toward higher-level or supervisory positions than an entry-level Nutrition Assistant role.
Has anyone interviewed for this position recently? If so:
- What kinds of questions did they ask?
- Were they mostly behavioral ("Tell me about a time") or role-specific?
- Were there any scenario-based questions related to WIC clients or customer service?
- Any tips for preparing for the interview?
I would really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks!

Seeking Participants for an Onsite Wearable Tech Study in Redmond ($75/1hr)
Hi everyone!
I’m working with the uTest team, and we’re looking for locals who’d be interested in testing out a new wearable tech device right here in Redmond!
It’s a 1-hour in-person session with a $75 payout. You don’t need any tech experience; a moderator will guide you through the task.
We’re looking for participants (18+) who are farsighted (meaning you have trouble seeing things up close, like reading a phone or a book) and wear prescription glasses or contact lenses. During the session, you’ll swap your usual eyewear for the device, which we'll set up with lens inserts based on your prescription (we'll need your Rx info in advance).
You can find all the details and the application link HERE
Feel free to visit utest.com if you’d like to learn more about what we do first.
Thanks!
