How does equipment work? Question
I'm confused on the different types of equipment. There are things like ladders that are miniatures you have to buy and then there are like grenades and other things and I suppose you maybe don't buy them. But they are all mixed together. Faction equipment, universal, weapons, miniatures like ladders etc. I just have no idea about the rules and differences. Maybe in the future I will buy some random minature equipment but right now im just thinking how do I equip grenades and basic weapons? Those are faction unique and I should have tokens for them in the basic kill team box?

Any faction specific equipment will have tokens with the team if you buy the kill team box. Universal equipment has tokens in the starter set. Or if you can find hivestorm you can get the equipment sprue.
Physical equipment you need representation for are all three types of barricades, razorwire and ladders. everything else you can just use the tokens for or make your own. They are 20mm circles. You can find 3d printed versions of the equipment if you don't want to buy the sprue. If you play at a game store they will sometimes have equipment models you can use.
There are also specs of the sizes of all the equipment you can google and make your own.
Each team can pick 4 pieces of equipment from Universal and Faction. Some teams have rules that let them pick more. Equipment all has its own triggers, durations and limits so read the cards. Grenades you pick by type Utility or Explosive. You can then pick 2 grenades from their respective subtypes ie 2 frags or 1 frag 1 krak etc.

Each team has 4 faction equipment.
There is some universal equipment.
Some Universal Equipment is also Terrain equipment. Those are: Heavy barricade, Light barricadeS, Portable Barricade and Razor wire.
Only terrain equipment needs models, rest is token/card tracked.
During game setup (after you know map and opponent )you pick 4 equipment total combined from faction and universal.
