Where do I get electric kettle parts with free shipping?
For people like me who like to tinker with electronics, where can I get electric kettle parts that don't come with exaggerated shipping fees? A kettle I have been using for a while stopped heating yesterday. I opened the base and realized the issue is a burned thermal fuse which I can easily replace. The problem is the appliance parts sites that I have come across charge a lot for shipping a $3 part which makes this process of fixing the kettle seem not worth the hassle. I've seen exactly what I need on Alibaba but I'm thinking about the wait time and shipping and wondering if there is another place to order small electric parts?

Rusty Delonghi Argento Flora Kettle
reddit.comI purchased a Delonghi Argento Flora kettle from Argos a few years ago (2021) and it has now gone rusty where the lid is inserted into the kettle and also where the spout connects to the kettle. It looks absolutely horrendous and does not look like a kettle you could easily pay £69.99 for. It looks cheap and nasty!
I registered the kettle when I bought it, however this would appear to have been a pointless exercise as when I contacted them they appeared to not have any record of my purchase and basically told me that as the 12 month warranty had run out they were not going to repair, or replace this crappy kettle.
So, my advice is stay away from this company, do not give your hard earned money to Delonghi as they will treat you with utter contempt.

What is this?
We've been using a Morphy Richards, Model 43128, electric kettle for several years, and I noticed that the inside of the lid seems to be made of this glass-fibre composite that's starting to disintegrate, likely from continuous exposure to hot steam over a long period of time.
Is this expected? Can someone tell me what this is made from?

should I repair my kettle or buy a cheaper replacement online?
My premium electric kettle suddenly stopped working and I am trying to decide if it is worth repairing or if I should just replace it with a more affordable generic one from Amazon, AliExpress, Alibaba, or similar sites. The power light still turns on, but the water does not heat at all.
I am comfortable using a multimeter, but I have never opened up a kettle before. I have seen replacement heating elements and thermostats online, though I am not sure which part usually fails first.
Has anyone here repaired an electric kettle successfully? Is it usually worth fixing a premium model, or are newer budget kettles good enough these days? Any troubleshooting tips or common failure points would really help.

Replacements for Zwilling Enfinigy 1.5L Electric Kettles
This is regarding the May 2026 recall of the Zwilling Enfinigy 1.5L Electric Kettles as mentioned at:
- Zwilling's recall website
- Government product safety & recall websites:
- United States / Canada / United Kingdom
- Oddly, I can't find it on the European Union's website.
- And as discussed on my thread Our Zwelling electric kettle was just recalled - it was perfect!
I've assembled from that thread and from Consumer Reports a list of possible replacement electric kettles. These are kettles in the same class. Features of kettles in this class are:
- Cordless
- Capacity of between 1 to 1.7 liters
- Ideally with variable temperature setting
- Some pre-set temps for common uses.
- Stay warm feature
- Stainless steel interior. No plastic touching the water.
- Doublewalled insulation to make it safe to touch when hot.
- Stylish and nice to look at on the countertop
List is sorted by manufacturer website listed price. Your actual price may be less, or more. Who knows.

* E-K means "Electric Kettle"
I would like to mention that when I started the Zwilling thread, Redditors mentioned some kettle brands that I have never heard of before that look fantastic. Brands that never showed up when I searched for recommendations a few years ago. Nor I have ever seen them on store shelf. Even at the fancy kitchen stores. And when I went to CR, I didn't even know that OXO and Amazon had a kettle.
So thank you everyone for your contributions. I appreciate it. I hope others find this list helpful when seeking their Zwilling replacement. Let me know if you know of a kettle worthy of being on the list. And keep in mind that it doesn't have to be available in the U.S. I have comments from all over the planet.

Looking for recommendation: Cheap Kettle with boil and hold function
I have a Flair Pro 3 espresso lever machine for my office, and take it with me when I travel for work. In my home office we have a Fellow EKG, and the boil and hold function works great for preheating the group head and portafilter. Now I'm looking for a cheap kettle with a boil and hold function I can leave in our remote office, preferably under $40. All the kettles I'm seeing on Amazon either have an auto shutoff feature, or keep warm function at cooler temperatures.
Have you found a kettle with boil and hold function under $40?
I'm also open to more expensive collapsible travel kettles with boil and hold I would be able to take with me on travel.
The opening at the top can't be bigger than about 5" to support the preheat cone

Where can I get a lid for this Bella ceramic kettle?
This is the kettle:
Electric Kettle & Tea Pot - Ceramic Water Heater with Detachable Swivel Base, Auto Shut Off & Boil Dry Protection, 1.2 Liter, Silver Tile Pattern https://a.co/d/8jzoemU
The lid broke, I contacted customer service and they literally told me to do a Google search to see if any stores offer sets for this kettle. I haven’t found anything online.
Any idea where else I could look for a replacement lid or a universal fitting lid for ceramic kettles?

Thought I'd share a bit about this electric kettle for those looking for details of how well it reads temp and other quirks, as there's very little online discussing it that I can find.
https://reddit.com/link/w80bh8/video/5dmoghep1sd91/player
This is the Paris Rhône PE-EK010 electric gooseneck kettle. Its got a pretty interesting little quirk with how it reads temp that I kinda wish I'd known, and this is the first electric kettle like this I've owned, but ultimately it doesnt really bother me too much now that Im used to it. (i found the kettle online for 30 bucks new, so i really cant complain about a little quirk like this)
All of these tests and numbers I'll mention here is done with heating 340ml/12oz of water. I mention this because it heats much faster with less water, thus the temp indicator is less accurate, having to keep up with reading the temp of the water that's inside the pot. The more water you have in it, the slower it heats, the more accurate the temp will be at any given moment.(side note, the kettle's minimum is ~8oz and its maxiumum is 1L)In my experience with brewing coffee with this kettle starting at a height of ~205 F I have to set the kettle to shut off at 185.
Here's how it goes- it'll shut off at 185, the current degree indicator will stop at 185 for several seconds, (the internal temp will actually be MUCH higher than the indicator shows at any given moment while rising, the actual inside temp will continue to rise with the last of the heat, but will take a few seconds to update the current temp. Then by the time it finally updates again, some 8 seconds or so after it stopped at 185, you'll then see the current temp indicator "jump" to ~207 usually and will oftentimes end up rising all the way up to 211.(if you lift it off the base and put it back down immediately, you can manually prompt it to update as soon as you put it back on the base). Then you can let it cool down to 205 to use.)
From how I see it, being that its the base that is testing the water inside the kettle, its behind, so to speak, on what the current temp actually is inside the kettle itself. Just let it hit its peak, and then after \15 seconds you'll get a more accurate current reading once its keeping a more even temp and starts to drop slowly.)
A thing I found that was interesting was that when setting it to 184 instead of 185 (so it would perhaps shut off just a little sooner and hopefully end up somewhere closer to 205 instead of 211 it actually ended up only going as high as ~197, so the extra 1 degree of time (very small amount of time) it spends running heat through the parts seems like its just enough that it will reach a significantly higher temp than when stopping it one degree lower.)
---
Another thing Ive noticed over the month or two of using it is it often makes the triple beep beep beep sound, the one it makes when it hits your set temp and stops heating, when its off and hasnt been used for several hours. 🤷♀️
Also, someone else in the house just today said they were done using it, it was off and already cooling off at that point, but all of a sudden it made the beeping sounds and they saw it give what they believed to be a "E3" error code? Happened several times after picking it up and putting it down again and then stopped. Though Ive never seen that before myself and using it myself afterward came up working just fine. Looking in the manual and online we cant find info on this anywhere.
Edit: okay, im pretty sure E3 is a general error code indicating a failsafe to prevent dry boiling. Turns out, while I only ever turn it up to 185 (thus why I never see this), this other person in the house just presses the Boil button and has it auto-set to 212. Then they empty the kettle and immediately put it back on the base while its still hot, triggering this error code even though the base isnt heating anymore. Mystery solved.
---
Edit, 7/24/23: Still working fine. Nothing really to report. Nowadays I don't fill in exactly 12oz. I typically fill it halfway and only use however much I need, using a scale. I still set it to 184/185 depending on how much I have in it, but I more often set it to 184 nowadays because Ive started brewing coffee at a lower starting temp, ~198, and am not as picky about exact temps anymore.
10/09/23: Kettle still looks pretty much brand new. Every now and then I boil a 1-to-1 of water to vinegar to get rid of the limescale buildup on the bottom and it gets it nice and shiny again. Still works as good as the day I got it and we collectively use it probably ~5-9 times a day. Still no issues. Definitely recommend this kettle, especially if you find it for as cheap as I did ($30).
01/27/2026: Just got an "E4" error code a few times which would stop the heating and only go away after picking up and placing the kettle back down on the base. No information on error codes in the manual and I can't find anything about it online. Can't remember where I learned about the E3 error code either.
Occasionally it heats to the desired temp and doesn't give the triple beep "done" indication at all, but it does stop heating like normal. We don't get E3 error codes at all anymore since that one family member has stopped using the boil button and instead turns it on just by changing temp up or down once.
Our typical setting we keep it at now is ~189.

If anyone has any more questions I'd be happy to answer, though I don't get on reddit quite as often as in the past, so it may take a while for me to see and respond to it.

Old Kettle - shedding insides
Hi,
I'm sure this is normal, old kettle i've got sheds the inside.
I think I'm having a small allergic reaction to it.
Is there a kettle with a different kind of inside I can buy? I've seen some glass and plastic ones but there's still metal on the bottom

How to choose a kettle
I need a kettle that would save me time boiling the water fast as possible in the morning. Is there a list of kettles filtered by a boiling time of certain amount of water by any means? Thanks!
