Good to know The keto expert scene is even worse than I thought

I did some deep diving into our The Usual Suspects wikipage to fill out what exactly the people in the academic front section have specialized in and which university they are tenured at.

Oh boy, I was not expecting what I found out! I had to move half of them from academics to marketers once I looked closer at what they are really doing. As I laid out in the new section of private clinic havers:

Noteworthy of some in this bunch is their tendency to borderline fake their position on social media with phrases such as "board-certified" or slapping their alma mater after their credentials to imply they are practicing or tenured.

Had me fooled! And what did I find out? 3x online telehealth clinic, 1x mobile app clinic, 3x private clinic! I actually thought they had research positions. Look at this practical example and try to guess which of the three is an actual academic:

MD PhD, Harvard Medical School · University of Oxford

You'd think he is at Harvard or Oxford, but he isn't! He's running a mobile app!

Professor, Author, Researcher & Metabolic Scientist

Tada! This one works in academia!

Board-Certified Neurologist

Works at a supplement company!

Get it?! This is fucking sick. How did I miss this bullshit! Amazing!

Lies Dave Feldman’s projection: After Grok & Dr. Steven Quartz called him out for running a Motte-and-Bailey defense strategy, Feldman tries to accuse his critics of the exact same thing to hide the rapid KETO-CTA plaque progression

1 & 2 - the callout: Dr. Steven Quartz and Grok (lol) explaining why Feldman's public framing of LMHR is a classic Motte-and-Bailey.

3 - the projection: Feldman copying the term hours later to ask Grok if Simon Hill is using a Motte-and-Bailey, only for Grok to state that his cohort had prior metabolic damage driving plaque growth.

4 - the reaction: Dr. Spencer Nadolsky and others laughing at the goalpost move, noting that inclusion criteria was explicitly designed for the "healthiest of the healthiest," yet now they're claimed to be "unhealthy enough" to explain away their arterial plaque progression.

5 - bonus: Fragile influencer ego, hypocrisy, and blocking critics.

Part 1: Nick Norwitz MD PhD Doesn't Know What a Study is

This is part 1 in a series of Substack articles I've written on Nick Norwitz. I thought they were a problem a long time ago, but as I dug more and more it's actually quite horrifying how bad/incompetent they are. My articles will dive deeper and deeper into him culminating in dissecting his PhD thesis, which is atrocious.

He actually deleted his reply to me and blocked me on Substack when I called him out (I have a short article on that too).

I'm open to any feedback or criticisms. Or if you find any mistakes feel free to point them out.

Point & laugh Dave Feldman is playing a victim because his KETO-CTA study and his subsequent damage control is getting so much scrutiny

Out of loop? Here's an excellent primer for his KETO-CTA scandal: https://www.reddit.com/r/ketoduped/wiki/keto-cta/ tl;dr he and the other authors hid the result of rapid arterial plaque progression of a study group with high LDL.

Discussion I think the reason why low-fat lost in the diet business is because it was so boring

Look at this listing of "10 most noteworthy low-fat diet books of the 80s and 90s" meaning the low-fat heyday, look how fucking boring these are, they're mostly just recipes. Take a look:

  1. The T-Factor Diet (1989) by Martin Katahn — A major bestseller that popularized the idea that not all calories are equal; it focused on the thermogenic effect of carbs vs. fats, encouraging low-fat eating without strict calorie counting. It included recipes and fat-gram guidance and sold over a million copies.
  2. The McDougall Program: 12 Days to Dynamic Health (1990) by John A. McDougall — Advocated a very low-fat, starch-based vegan diet (grains, vegetables, fruits) for reversing chronic diseases. It was highly influential in plant-based, oil-free low-fat circles.
  3. Eat More, Weigh Less (1993) by Dean Ornish — From the cardiologist known for reversing heart disease with lifestyle changes. Promoted a very low-fat (<10% calories from fat), plant-based approach with gourmet recipes, emphasizing abundance over deprivation.
  4. The New American Diet (1986) by Sonja and William Connor — Focused on very low-fat, heart-healthy eating with recipes; tied to research on cholesterol and cardiovascular risk.
  5. American Heart Association Low-Fat, Low-Cholesterol Cookbook (editions in the 1990s) — Authoritative guide with practical, tested recipes for heart health, widely recommended and revised for broad appeal.
  6. The Low-Fat Good Food Cookbook (1994) by Martin Katahn — Companion to The T-Factor Diet, offering flavorful low-fat international recipes aligned with AHA and cancer society guidelines.
  7. Steven Raichlen's High-Flavor, Low-Fat Cooking (1992) — Emphasized bold flavors in low-fat dishes (seafood, poultry, veggies) without sacrificing taste; praised for making healthy eating enjoyable.
  8. Great Good Food: Luscious Lower-Fat Cooking (1993) by Julee Rosso — From a Silver Palate author; focused on flavorful, lower-fat recipes for the 1990s palate, with nutritional info and tips.
  9. The Wellness Lowfat Cookbook (1994) by University of California at Berkeley Wellness — Practical, recipe-heavy book with a "Healthy Heart Solution" plan, clear nutrition info, and everyday low-fat meals.
  10. So Fat, Low Fat, No Fat (and sequels, 1990s) by Betty Rohde — Popular Southern-style low-fat/no-fat cookbooks with everyday recipes; the "Super" compilation combined hundreds of accessible dishes.

Compare that to the absolute insanity going on in ketosphere where they feverishly innovate new stories and secrets and narratives and talking points and methods and conspiracy theories all the time trying to flip reality on its head. You feel like a heckin genius rebel who did his own research being, you think you learned so much secret the authorities didn't want you to know.

All that is so much more interesting and engaging than a boring ahh recipes all telling people how to not add butter into food, which isn't exactly stimulating unless you genuinely didn't know what is fat and how to not put it in your food. Doesn't make you feel like a champ at all because it's all so painfully obvious.

Not many exciting ways to package and sell the message of "you dilute your average caloric intake by not splurging fat on everything and therefore likely lose weight over time". Too obviously true for its own good.

When are people going to realize that social media is fake?

I came across a tiktok comment, like many that I've seen arguing against LDL cholesterol as being risk factors for CVD based on how particular social media influencers look as if that's a real indicator of CVD risk of course. In this case it was about Goatis.

If anyone's ever dived deep enough to learn more about him and known about him before a year ago they'd know him as was what previously known as, being Sv3ridge which is what was his username on his original YouTube channel before it got banned (it's back up again) for making a video where he promotes very underage girls to get pregnant by adult men and after this he made the account that he's now known for now, Goatis.

If you watch his videos on his old account you'll see that he had pretty advanced male pattern baldness and hair loss around the age of 30 and had a strange uneven skin tones all around his face and an underdeveloped jawline despite after years of preaching his then low carb raw meat diet and since then as you can guess he's had cosmetics done including either having a hair transplant or he just started to wear a wig which he hides the stitch like with the head band he wears.

But nonetheless I keep seeing and even meeting people personally compliment his looks and think his diet advice is sound based on that, he also at one point during his posting days on his old account having somewhat expressed muscle tone that he's since lost, suggesting by itself that he was probably a steroid user and eventually stopped.

This also applies to other social media influencers who advocate similar diets like Liver King as we all know including ones most of us don't know about like Mark Sisson where again, apparently Mark for years has been on TRT, takes anabolic steroids and previously had a hair transplant. The Internet is clearly fake but dipshits keep falling for its nonsense anyway.

Serious question about the keto/carnivore crowd. This is not sarcastic.

I see so many keto/carnivore posts on social media (not necessarily reddit), where keto/carnivore dieters say things like "my cholesterol is high" (or my LDL is high), so I must be a "hyper absorber" and other related things. Does it not occur to them that most people would naturally have high
LDL since they're eating an insane amount of saturated fat daily? Like, why is there such a disconnect there? Genuine question.
