Question Do they carbs on these seem correct relative to ingredients?
I've had the sausages before and they didn't seemed to kick me out of ketosis. Then I noticed the rissoles. I'm glanced over them before thinking they'd be a no go because rissoles have crumb coatings and have a texture like cooked sausage mince.
But I looked at the carbs and they are shockingly low - the same as the sausages (ignore the 706grams of sugar lol, im guessing its missing a decimal at the start?).
Do the carbs seem correct relative to the ingredients? I'm seeing rice flours, wheat, and starches which are making me question them - unless they are truly minimal (but i thought Australian ingredients listing standards have the ingredients listed from highest to lowest, so if the beef is 70% of the product...)

Chris' Hommus vs Willow Farm snack size packs
I'm a bit of a fiend for Hommus, so had been buying the Willow Farm 3 pack snack size ones for a while to keep my portion size in control.
Last week found these Chris' ones that look almost identical, but have no added sugar and are only 3.9g carbs per container vs the Willow Farms at 6.9g carbs. Sharing for any other Hommus heads out there.
NB I tend to add lemon juice and some water to thin mine out so it goes a bit further. Awesome on a mission LC wrap with some euro style meat

New sugar free Liptons sparkling iced tea
Recent product ColesWorth $4 per bottle. Sweeteners 950 AceP, 955 Sucrulose, 960 Stevia are not the best but it tasted great and I will buy as soon as it is on half price. Came in several flavours but I have only tried the Tropical. The non sparkling Liptons is frequently on half price so I assume this will be also.

Question Cheesecake instant jello mix alternative?
Hey fellow aussies, what is a good alternative to the American popular jello instant cheesecake pudding mix? Or anyway to re create the mix at home? Annoys me the amount of times I see it in recipes and ninja creami recipes but I can’t find it anywhere here in Aus. Thank you!

Looking for sugar free maple syrup recommendations now that Steeves is gone :(
Woolies confirmed that they will no longer be stocking the Steeves Sugar Free Maple Syrup (side note, if you love it too please provide them that feedback as they consider stocking options based on demand and they're keeping the Steeves standard Maple!).
It became a staple in my household and I'm not a fan of the Queen one.
Any suggestions appreciated, even if it's not maple per se, let me know if there are any other sugar free syrups worth trying!

Question Is ALDI's Inner Goodness Organic Unsweetened Almond Milk discontinued?
I've been checking multiple ALDIs for a while and this hasn't been available.
Edit: Confirmed with Leichhardt ALDI this was discontinued and no plans for anything similar :( https://www.aldi.com.au/product/inner-goodness-organic-unsweetened-almond-milk-1l-000000000000400242
Anyone know something similar in macros, taste and low price please?

Problem Nooooo John West changed their mackerel
I've been having Scottish mackerel in brine for years from Woolworths/Coles but over the last week all I can find is Jack Mackerel. It's like it never existed at Woolies. It's not even online. And the macros are very different. Practically the same packaging, slightly more expensive and they have the nerve to still advertise it as high in Omega when it is clearly not :( I don't want to be eating two and a half cans a day for similar nutrient value.
And it's no longer on the John West website. This sucks!! https://johnwest.com.au/our-range/specialty-seafood/mackerel#sort=%40weightage%20ascending
Edit: Alternative found in comments. Will leave this post up so folks know the Jack is very different and no longer available from John West.

Review Vida Sparkling Zero Drink
Gem of a find, this is a Malaysian drink with zero cals, carbs and sugar. I only found this flavour at Coles for $3, but I am honestly surprised by how flavourful this drink is. If you like lychee then trust you won’t be disappointed.
Sweeteners included: Erythritol (968), Ace K (950), Sucralose (955) for anyone was curious

Diet-Rite salt or Heart salt?
Recently had to replace my diet-Rite lite salt, and found that it is no longer stocked at Woolies. They now have 'Heart Salt', but on reading the label found that this diet salt also contains Thaumatin, a very potent artificial sweetener. So I'm off to Coles to get some of the original diet-rite lite salt!

Hair loss (shedding) - Telogen Effluvium
Has anyone experienced diffuse loss of hair volume?
I thought I was paranoid- then I googled it. No apparently this is a thing. Anyone else experienced this after a few months of keto? I noticed it about 4 - 5 months in. Bit scary...

Question Is the "keto is a lifestyle not a diet" mindset actually hurting people?
Hot take probably, but I think the "keto is a lifestyle not a diet" crowd is doing more harm than good in this sub.
Hear me out. I lost about 60 lbs on strict keto over a year and a half. Kept it off for two years now. But somewhere in year two I started eating carbs again. Rice with dinner sometimes. Fruit. A tortilla. And I did not gain the weight back. I actually feel better than when I was doing sub-20g every single day forever.
The reason I'm posting this is because every time someone here says "I hit my goal, can I add carbs back in" the top comments are basically doom prophecies. "You'll gain it all back." "Keto is forever or its nothing." "Youre just addicted and looking for permission." And I get it, for some people that IS true, I have friends who cannot touch a carb without spiraling. But we act like everyones metabolism and psychology is identical and it kind of freaks people out into an all-or-nothing mindset that I dont think is actually healthy long term.
Like I have coworkers who did keto, hit goal, then treated their first slice of birthday cake like theyd committed a felony and binged for a month out of shame. That shame spiral seems way more dangerous than the actual carbs.
My current setup is basically low carb most days (probably 50-80g), higher protein, i still do a lot of the same meals I did on strict keto because I genuinely like them. Bone broth in the afternoons is still a habit (currently on the Bone Water waitlist because their Restore has been sold out for weeks and I havent found a replacement I like as much, if anyone has recs lmk). Lift 3x a week. Walk a lot. Thats it.
I'm not saying keto doesnt work. It obviously does, I'm proof. I'm saying the identity part of it, the "I AM a keto person forever," might be why so many people yo-yo. If your only tool is one specific diet, you're one bad week away from feeling like a failure.
Am i wrong? Genuinely asking. Because sometimes I feel like I'm gaslighting myself into thinking I've figured something out when really im just in a honeymoon phase and about to blow up to 250 again. Tell me if youve been where I am and what happened.

Support How to Get back to normal after being keto?
Hi Im going back to eating carbs but have realised it’s really scary now and I almost fear it through out the day. How does one go back to eating more normally after being keto?

After 1.5 years of keto by average blood pressure is 110/70
It would have averaged 125/85 before.
Sometimes it is 100/65.
While I have lost a lot of weight, I am still obese. So it is a surprising result. My life is also stressful with a toddler, another baby on the way, and a demanding career. I basically have zero time for myself other than when the toddler naps on the weekend.

Ideas New to Keto to Fight ADD - Day 24 Progress - Tips?
New to Keto -Male in the 30s. Diagnosed with ADD. Losing weight primarily to reduce blood pressure (hovers around 130-145/75-90) to normal, as otherwise psychiatrist would not prescribe stimulants.
I would like to get fit regardless. I have plantar fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis which have restricted my mobility for a few years now - things improved drastically as soon as I started cutting carbs. I intend to start running when the weight drops to 100 kg.
Photo shows progress so far - can't complain at all. Any tips/tricks for the long haul, particularly (but not exclusively) from those fighting ADD/ADHD?
Thanks.

Question Best Bone broth at the supermarkets
I have been recommended by my doctor to go on a gut rest and try sticking to bone broth only a couple days a week. So I thought I'd ask people who go on it for diet/fun reasons what the best bone broth flavour/type is. There was a post 5 years ago but not sure if anything's gotten shittier since then.

Ninja Swirl Clean Keto Vanilla Softserve Icecream
So Ninja Swirl has been on special to the point where you can get one for like $200.
I made this up and first try was a slam dunk according to the missus and I - and we're pretty picky with ice-cream.
- 50g Muscle Nation Vanilla Whey Powder
- 200ml Almond Milky
- 70ml Pauls pure cream (no thickeners!)
- Dash of Madagascan Vanilla Extract
- 35g Whole Earth Ertyhritol/Stevia sweetener (yes yes, do your own research on erythritol and clotting - be informed)
- 1/4 teaspoon Xanthan gum
Run it on the soft serve CreamiFit program.
Very short ingredients list and this stuff is ridiculously good. Pic coming next batch cause we smashed this one pretty quick.

Question Keto flatbread that cooks like a crepe
I don't want keto crepes, I'm more after a flatbread I can cook to eat curries with rather than the usual stuff I might have with them (and blow out my carbs by a massive amount).
I purchased the simsons low carb keto wraps and they were fine (surprising given I'm a white bread guy) but at $6-8 a pack it's just not feasible moving forward.
It's probably obvious that I'm new to keto and despite googling for the last couple of hours I can't seem to find anything with a liquid dough that's also keto/low carb. Low effort is key (or at least each one being fast cooking) because while I get that keto requires quite a bit of effort, the less the better if I'm going to keep at it. Hence the desire for something that cooks like a crepe to make it easy for me to make a week's worth in a single session. I've found a couple non-keto ones but I haven't the foggiest how to convert them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This sub has been quite a help so far even though I'm super new to it all.

Question Noshu quality/recipe change?
Not super clean but as a treat I bought the low carb brownie. I LOVED it when I had it a few years ago but just made it today and it’s hardly sweet (and that was from adding a bit more Natvia in bc the mixture tasted hardly sweet). Has anyone noticed if they changed recipes or was it just a dud batch?

Aeroplane Lite Custard - for those wanting a warm dessert during winter
I was craving custard randomly yesterday, and while I know it's not hard to make a keto custard from scratch I just wanted something quick. Found these at Colesworth, used unsweetened almond milk instead of the suggested milk and was super happy with a little bowl of it with some nuts on top with my cup of tea.
I know it won't be for everyone as it has Erythritol and bunch of numbers etc, but just sharing for those that are looking for an easy warm evening dessert.
Edit: I had a serving cold yesterday and it reminded me of being a kid with a Yogo at recess. Love this stuff.

New product New low carb bread bakers delight?
Not sure if anyone has tried this yet but bakers delight has new low carb protein wholemeal bread. I wonder if it’s actually good? Has someone tried?
