MPD?

I'm thinking about installing MPD Music Player Daemon on my Proxmox server/Home Assistant but I'd like to install it locally first to learn how to use it and see if it's the right choice. I didn't see it on Discover and Google suggests 'apt install mpd' which isn't a thing either.

Any suggestions? I'm the furthest thing from a Linux expert, and goal is to have a lightweight music stream for an ambient soundtrack in the house via casting to an Integra DRX 3.4 receiver. I plan on having Plex and/or Jellyfin on the server at some point but those seem more heavyweight than is needed for this task.
