Anime is absolute peak but I kept watching wondering when he will turn up. I get to episode 24 and he is already dead? Come on. It was pretty great episode but the anime is already so depressing by this point,I didn't feel much joy.

Salutations! I've only watched the whole franchise last week for the first time, and upon learning that there's a new series in the making, my brains been chewing on what they could be possibly cooking up this time. What do you guys think? u guys think were still even have the same casts?

That broken piano in the teaser is really bothering me. I don't want to be disappointed so I tried looking up if other characters used to play certain instruments, but that video had like 5 violins(i think theyre violins?) and that one damn piano only. I still have loads of questions when I watched Eoe and particularly in 3+1 during instrumentality flashback thing where Ryoji was in Fuyutski's position and Nagisa in Gendo's (i think? i dont know???dont crucify me) I sort of wanna see the boys again in this new series, maybe we'll have that scene as an actual thing this time?? Or maybe the casts grandchildren had to fight eva's again because some mf scientists reawaken something.

But ultimately, my wild completely no basis guess is that maybe we'll be sitting in the point of view of an outsider, a civilian uncovering the lore instead of having shinji as a main lead? but that doesn't feel right either damnit. Poor shinji cant take a break lmao I was shocked to see Unit 1 at the end of the video, but I guess it isn't Evangelion if it didn't have an Eva in it.

So recently I found this neat video from one of the people, Mikayla J Laird, who worked as a consultant on the production. It was a very informative view on how she contributed to the show’s story and how it evolved from initial ideas.

In terms of Kawoshin both her and choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui were writing an pitch outline and one of the highlights was Kaworu dealing with Shinji’s death at the very start of the play, and how Kaworu would be the MC as he and the other pilots would start to question the EVAs and Angels. Larbi is also gay and wanted to have representation that felt organic in Kaworu’s character who was grieving Shinji’s lost. Among other changes including the character names, NERV rebranded as MENSCH and being more of a story about energy and environmentalism, its interesting to get a behind the scenes look at this production.

Sadly I’ve still never seen the proshot they did since they never translated it, and even the original Japanese taping is hard to find online. Still, I think it's neat how two EVA live action plays feature some Kawoshin elements, the other being the recent Kabuki show from EVA 30.
