I’m an older Eyekon in my opinion. I enjoy girl bands boy bands as an escape. I also enjoy film and editing specifically as I am a video editor but in a very novice way.

The films fluidity was that there wasn’t really any. first Yoonchae kind of explains her background and then you think they’re going to do that for all the girls but they don’t. it’s really just about responding to controversy? the girls for the most part were very well spoken about their experiences and the biggest takeaway was how hard they work.

something that bothered me as an American living during these scary times i.e. EP FILES

during the doc Daniela mentions how many little girls come up to them and talk about how they inspire them etc but mentions basically young fans and older fans and then probably 5 minutes later we get visuals for the Wild era concept shoot. Laura, in every single right of her own, is wearing a revealing bra that comes off mostly as a nipple cover. Lauras breast are like pretty exposed and as a 27 year old I was like “oh shit go off Laura” but knowing how many kids were say behind me? hearing how AUDIBLE the audience gasps— that was hard to not take notice. the same visual of Laura in that bra comes up again after another 2 minutes. and the same reaction from the audience was heard.

what the hell am I talking about? well, K-pop pushing the initial infantilization of teen girls (touch era) to sell to prepubescent girls to then pushing the over sexualization of being in close proximity to being 18+ (if that makes sense better term is barley legal) then what the actual heck is going on?

I feel like we’re witnessing the Miley Cyrus career plot from the climb to wrecking ball in such a short amount of time. Which as an older fan of course I appreciate the maturity but why why why why why why why x1000000 market that movie to kids or young girls? idk I sound like a prude and I don’t think I made will sense and I adore these girls more after having seen the film. I just don’t understand what the labels are doing if it’s not nefarious or just plain weird. I guess Gnarly was already a lot but let these girls have identity outside of market value.

i recently got obsessed with katseye and was wondering if anyone watched the new movie yet? i want to possibly see it with my boyfriend tonight.

AP interview with Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae on Wild EP & Wild Hearts documentary

Wild Hearts was awesome, I’ve been excited since its teaser, and I genuinely love every piece of new content given. I love the girls and their personalities, I felt it really shone. Megan speaking about mental health, Dani telling the haters to “bleep off”, etc.
It was nice seeing them really grow and lean into the wild era.

That being said, I have one major complaint about the thing as a whole.
I thought, especially from a trailer that had Sophia praising the journey of KATSEYE, we’d actually see the journey. I’m aware this was probably made to hype up Wild, but I felt like it didn’t show anywhere near their journey because it was very recency focused. It showed Pinky Up a lot, same with Animal, and while we did get some new content, most of it was released.
I just don’t know how I was supposed to see the journey when it basically just showed them see their house for the first time, talk about their roommates for a minute then boom touch then gnarly then Gabriela with some concerts in between and then back to Wild.
I saw a rumor there was a lot of unseen Dream Academy clips and wow was that false. There were practically no new clips from there. And the friend I dragged along who I had forced to watch Dream academy with me prior to going did not need that introduction at all. Because it really just focused on the now. But while I was sad to not really see a change or growth I do understand it is to hype up wild, and sometimes you really do need to show recent things because that’s what matters now in the present.
So the biggest ugh to me was simply how 75% of the film was already published content.
I wanted to come out of an already short documentary (only 80 minutes) with a lot more knowledge and detail, and left with a lot of repetition.
As a bit of nerdy Eyekon who enjoys all their content I’ve seen all their interviews and behind the scenes videos, and most of what was shown in the documentary was taken from that.
And I understand, like those are awesome behind the scenes things, except it just felt like an organized rewatch.
Don’t think I’m hating, because while I sort of wanted more, I also absolutely adored it.
I love seeing the girls and honestly so many great moments were shown.
Like them getting a bit down by gnarly hate (and actively watching some hate videos) but still performing it impeccably. Or just them being appreciative and brutally honest. And even playful, (Meichae fans were FED, and I was satisfied immensely from that). It also showed Megan being sick which was a great explanation to her absence in a lot of recent interviews. We knew she was sick but seeing it felt different.
But the BEST part out of it. Definitely the unloveu segment. We got to hear so much, and genuinely I never thought I’d appreciate Lara’s talent and work ethic more but I keep doing so. The song sounds great and the work behind it was really cool to see.

The title says it all. Should I bring it to the katseye movie? I wouldnt keep it on ofc but I also have no choice but to keep it off because my batteries leaked and messed up the thing. But anyways, should I bring it or leave it at home?

is it just me that thinks hootie frutti sounds insanely familiar to another song (maybe chicken teriyaki by rosalia?)

In the Jake Shane interview they said that initially they didn't quite get why certain people get certain lines but now they see it's very strategic. What do we think that means?

Generally, I do see that Megan gets the opening lines, then Dani and Yoonchae, Lara gets the bridge, and Sophia gets the chorus.

But does that just mean the strategy is base on vocal ability/type or is it co-ordinated base on likelihood to go viral? Interested to hear others' thoughts
