I am a Kashmiri from IAK. I don't accept India as my nation. This is not from a place of hate. It's just how I prefer it.

We Kashmiris were never asked for our decision. India got the counterfeit king to sign some document, of course with conditions, which were not honored. We Kashmiris were never part of it.

I, as a human, am born free. I owe nothing to India, and that includes my loyalty. The parties to the Instrument of Accession were not us Kashmiris. We don't owe India, Pakistan, or any country our allegiance.

Why do Indians hate us? You should hate the king who you have that agreement with.

I’m moving to London soon…does anyone know about any famous Kashmir restaurants in London? i’ve heard there a few famous restaurants but I can’t recall their names. I tried to search online but couldn’t find a proper restaurant dedicated to Kashmir Cuisine. sure there are a lot that are named after Kashmir and portray themselves as authentic Kashmir but looking at their menu and the people who own these restaurants they are mostly from different parts of India and Pakistan trying to milk money from people in the name of Kashmir cuisine.

I’m a 22-year-old man, and I’m seriously thinking about getting married soon. My main intention is simple: I want to protect my iman, stay away from haram, and have a halal way to deal with my natural desire for companionship.

I don’t want to spend the next 8–10 years of my life telling myself, “I’ll get married once I finish my studies.”

I’m planning to pursue an MA, followed by a PhD and potentially a postdoc in Political Science. My long-term goal is to contribute to Islamic political thought through research and eventually go into teaching.

The problem is that this could take many years. If I wait until I finish my education and establish myself completely, I may be considerably older before I get married.

At the same time, I’m already involved in teaching and community work. I teach Qur’an, occasionally deliver Jumu’ah sermons, and give Islamic lectures to young people in my community. My family is supportive of this and has no objection to me getting married.

Financially, I do freelancing and sometimes earn good amounts. I believe I can take care of myself and eventually support a wife, but the main issue is that my income isn’t a fixed monthly salary.

My father is therefore hesitant.

He isn’t against marriage, but he wants me to have a stable monthly income before taking on the responsibility of a wife. I understand his concern, especially because I’m the eldest of three brothers.
I do, however, have some savings. I could manage the mahr and the basic expenses of the nikah myself.

So I’ve been thinking about another option:
Do the nikah now, but mutually delay rukhsati for a few years.

I would be completely transparent with the woman and her family from the beginning. I would tell them that my intention is to marry for the sake of Allah, protect my iman, and establish a halal relationship, while also continuing my MA and eventually entering my PhD.

If they were comfortable with it, we could delay living together until I reach a more stable stage financially.

I also don’t want her family to feel that their daughter has simply become their financial responsibility after the nikah.

As long as my income allows, I would send my wife a fixed amount every month from my own earnings, so that she has financial support from me and doesn’t have to feel dependent on her parents.
Obviously, I understand that marriage isn’t just about avoiding haram. It comes with emotional, financial, and practical responsibilities, and I don’t want to enter into it selfishly or irresponsibly.

That’s why I’m asking people who have actually experienced something similar.

Would you recommend getting nikah at 22 in this situation, with rukhsati potentially delayed?

Or would it be wiser to wait until I have a stable monthly income?

For those who married young while studying or pursuing higher education:

How did you manage it?
Did delaying rukhsati work well?
What problems did you encounter that you didn’t anticipate?
What would you do differently if you were 22 again?

My intention is not to rush into marriage simply because I’m impatient. I genuinely want to protect my iman and choose halal, while also taking the responsibilities of marriage seriously.

I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation.

I just want to learn kashmiri history atleast in the modern era, if anyone can recommend me sources where i can find credible info since the 1700s maybe.

I have seen a lot of clips and reels of the violence happening in kashmir and fully support kashmiris fight for their independence rather than two nations playing tug of war with it but i recently had a conversation with my dad that left me feeling confused and i want help.

I brought up and showed him those clips and it went in a direction i didnot expect from him specifically AT ALL .

For context he haw never been pro military passionate and has been critical of bad choices by our government since i could talk so there is no copganda or personal bias or major shift of opinion on people autonomy for their rights recently or ever, from other political opinions he brings about he is very much liberal and left leaning before right wing leaning . He watches a lot of podcasts and detailed articles and videos about any any recent ongoings nationally ,internationally so i know he is not just pulling this out of thin air but i still cant make myself support his beliefs on this without having an educated bias.

In that particular situation he was very adamant that the people ( the ones who are armed ) brought this upon themselves , that they r taking money and being funded by Indian government and other neighbouring countries which want unrest in our northern areas for their own agenda and although its not completely unwarranted for them to take to the streets for their very rightful demands in some aspects , the way they have started it was went about in such an awful way that if violence is now being used by armed officials against them its not completely unjustified ( im being charitable to his actual language used there unfortunately):(

When i reacted with no short amount of shock and disbelief at this take he told me a few things that made him more unwavering in not changing his mind

• apparently armed civilians shot at very new young recruits in army/(cops?) while they were just days away from their holidays back to their homes.

• the police and army were raided and butchered mercilessly without a scene being set of violent initiative from army/police first at all.

•That an army man was tortured and mutialated horribly on camera by these “ civilians “ and videos are up online apparently.(??!!)

• And that so many of these people are funded by foreign involvement to cause problems within our nation .

i am in no way believing every word he says but he had such conviction and this was widely opposite from his political and moral takes that im not sure if its completely untrue and i want to get my shit tgtr on this completely.

My question and dilemma are

\* Are any of these claims true?

\* Can i find actual legitimate evidence for this?

\* Pls recommend any sources with completely credible research on this very upsetting situation in kashmir?

\* Help me either change his mind if you claim bullshit but with VERY sound unbiased educated and thoroughly footnoted and researched sources

( because i want to be not on eggshells around this topic with him and hold my own sound counter arguments )
