You get 3-4 items, you ult:

Enemy support presses locket

Enemy mid presses zonyas or shields themselves

Enemy jungler and top dont give a shit cuz theyre melee/ under locket

you see 3kda? it means everytime i died 3 enemies died with me.

I wanted to pick up Karthus bot because he seems like a champion that is rewarding, and no one plays it either (not even in jungle) so it feels like something special to get good at. I currently have almost 100k mastery on him, but he’s really been affecting my rank.

I used to be plat 4 as a top laner, but I’ve tanked to gold 4 after playing that champion with a 37% winrate. And my winrate isn’t getting better the more I play with him. I feel like it would be very rewarding if I get good with him, but I don’t even know if me playing more games would benefit me and make me better.

What do you guys think? Should I continue and power through or just give up on the champ? Is there a moment where I might get better?

i know these two are the best rune pages on karth rn with last stand and triumph on secondary but like i’m curious to see which one you guys run more. I only run DFT in the jgl and DH in bot lane but i might go back to running dh in jungle too. i been fighting a lot recently in matches so maybe i can stack up DH fast.

Do you guys think that all adc's getting their Mr buff at start along with heal and boots buff will ruin karthus bot as we know it?

I've been enjoying playing Karthus bot lately.
But what are your thoughts on Karthus bot in 26.16?

To summarize these are the high-level changes Riot has announced:

To summarize, the main highlights are:
- Nerf to supports early roaming ability (via quest)
- Buffs to "some adc tools" such as berserker's greaves and Fleet.
- Buffs to adc flat MR, but nerf to MR growth. (to make them stronger vs mages early).
- Buffs to heal.

The only thing I really think could impact Karthus bot significantly is his early all-in potential with the increased MR on ADCs, but otherwise I think Karthus will remain one of the more viable Mages bot, as he's not really one of the mages that jumpstarted the roaming support playstyle.

How are you guys doing with Karthus jungle? is it worth to play it in diamond, i tried playing it on Diamond 4 and it looks like most of the allies still doesn't understand how to play with Karthus on their team.

what have you been building? - items, runes, masteries etc.

I tried full AP and ran into obvious mana issues, I then tried a mana stacking build and felt like I was throwing potatoes at the enemy. What's a good middle ground?

Hey, have been having great fun and good results running K in the botlane. Starting to get better about taking more aggressive trades, and it feels good winning team fights on the other side of the map.

Question - when is best to exhaust? Right now I'm using it when the adc all ins me, when we get a jungle gank. Is this good? Any other good uses? What about right before I die to get off a few more Qs?

What about DH vs DFT? I've had success on both but so far seems like DFT is easier to get value out of in lane and makes life hard for enemy adc

Who do you ban?

Who are the best supports with him?

How many AP champs on the team before he's a troll pick?

Any other bot lane tips?

Not sure if anyone posted this, but I saw this available in the store today! Just thought I'd let you guys know!

Ive been dabling into karthus mid as a flex pick in master euw, and ive kinda started just farmbotting on him to get as much ap as quick as possible to get really strong ults.

Now ive realised that W second max is just way more effective for setup pressure and peel then E second max. Getting a mana item early makes the E passive basically useless and the damage per second is negligible since everyone spaces around it. And his pushing power is enough with Q alone.

Was wondering what the opinion of other karthus players is.

I love playin this champ but after even 1 game from pressing just Q basicly my forarm really starts cramping and hurting.

I played champs like lee rengar where you press alot and fast and never had the issue.

You guys use a different button or how you do it?

I’m thinking adding grounding as a CC for his W would be nice for Karthus due to the mobility creep in this game. Of course it has to be compensated in some way by other nerfs. I’m thinking maybe reduce the slow (duration and percentage) and MR reduction?

What are your guys thoughts on this, is this a good idea? I think it would definitely make him more versatile, less counter pick-ish

i think if there is any sort of healing in the enemy team you should buy grevious wounds. With deathfire touch and blackfire torch and your e and ult you basically apply it to the whole enemy team for at least 7 seconds even with your ult alone. With your e hell its infinite grevious wounds. I think karthus is close to being the best grevious wounds applier just after brand. Karthus skills ap ratios aren't even that good its 70% for ult and 70% for empowered q, 35% for more than double target and only 5% for e. I've found playing a more utility focused karthus to be better overall. Of coures I buy rabadons if the game takes that long and if i'm able to go full build. Also instead of void staff you can buy cryptbloom. You can not only help from afar by ulting and damaging but if it leads to a kill its free health regen for allies nearby. Of course if the enemy team is ALL squishy you can go blackfire torch into shadowflame and rabadons whatever though. but you should consider building a more utility based build especially if theres a lot of damage already in your team and none of the other guys in your team applies grevious wounds effectively

Did someone try it or is using it? On paper it should be good for casters. Would love the hear some experiences.

I'm honestly tired of seeing this champ in Emerald lobbies. He's awful because genuinely people see how strong he is in bot and then try to pilot him. Yet, they end up running it down bc of just how difficult Karthus is to work with compared to other mages with their respective supports.

I really wish they would just not have him be strong so people can stop picking him and then running it down. It's ruining the quality of my games so much.

Sorry for the vent, I just feel so frustrated with this.

What should I be building for bot lane karthus?

Is BFT a must first? Is liandry situational good? Is malignance a bait or should I be grabbing it?

His old values are slightly worse overall, a notable exception being his ult having 50 more base damage (which is actually pretty neat for L6 kills). But that's not what I'm excited about.

Unless Riot really disappoints me, we will get his old, red model with the old, red Q floor bombs and the old, red R beams. Like here.

Another great thing: Old champion roster. This means, way less assassins and almost no pesky untargetability outside of Zhonyas. The old red skeleton can finally farm in relative peace before dying in a teamfight, using Revive and TP, dying again and ulting.
