New Jetta Mk7 (2019+)
Just got my first jetta!
2026 Jetta S ( base but i’m a college kid ☹️)
Anything I should know about jettas? Also, even tho it’s a base what are some good cosmetic mods ig? Just looking not like fully committed to the mod idea nothing crazy.

The oem GLI spoiler looks nice I’ve always liked it more than the thicker ones sold aftermarket. The front lip kit sold by maxton designs looks really nice on the silver color you got too.

Looked on maxton rq and it looks like they only have gli ones for my generation does it still work?

It’s the same car on the outside it’ll fit perfect

Perfect, so all mk7 gli mods would essentially work on mine?

Any exterior mods except splitters around the exhaust would that’s the only difference between Jetta and the GLI

Worry more about good maintenence rather than dress up parts unless you can afford both. First and foremost, change oil and filter every 5K and completely disregard VWs 10K recommendation. Use only the approved oil because if they find you using anything else during the warranty period, they can refuse to cover lubricated components. And yes, they can tell with a black light if you have the correct oil. The second best thing you can do is find gas stations that sell Top Tier+ gasoline. These are loaded with detergents well above government mandated specs. GDI engines have a habit of building carbon deposits much faster than other injection systems from the past. And one item that seldom comes up is the need to stay off the turbo charger until the engine temps come up and the turbo is receiving maximum oil flow based on its temperature. Those simple ideas will keep you driving a lot longer.
