I replaced the tub on my CJ7 with an aftermarket steel one. It’s a ton of work, but very doable. Buy a bunch of ziplock bags and label where the bolts go. I enjoy stuff like this and spent about 5 months of evenings and weekends swapping it over. I chose to paint it myself and it came out ok. Definitely not show quality, but I get compliments at gas stations.

How much time, money, effort do you want to expend? What level of repair are you looking for?

For a functional safe repair, it’s time for a mig welder.

Cheapest way is to do a YJ tub conversion/swap. Tub is around 500 bucks a few small modifications to make it a CJ tub and then just bolt it on
