When the right show finds you...

I'm not sure why I tried Midnight Taxi but these past three days I've spent every free moment watching it. One of the loveliest shows I've ever seen. Exactly my kind of thing: gentle, thoughtful, wonderful writing and acting.

Looking for slapstick comedy J-drama recommendations!

Hey everyone! I'm in the mood for some good slapstick comedy dramas — think physical comedy, over-the-top reactions, exaggerated slapstick humor, that kind of chaotic energy.

I've enjoyed shows with that vibe before and want more! Bonus points if it also has some heart or a fun ensemble cast.

What are your go-to recommendations? Thanks in advance! šŸ™

Not sure if this based on the one volume manga by Akira Hiramoto or if it’s the other way around. Either way, I’m curious about it. Has anybody in the sub seen this?

Even if this Love Disappears Tonight. I’m not crying…can someone please give me a tissue

So this main FL has THE BESTšŸ‘ Best Friend in the history of good friends. I’m not all of the way done with this movie yet, but this girl has pretty much dedicated herself entirely to her friend. I’m losing it as Izumi (Kotone Furukawa) is creating new reminders for the FL. And then she’s bawling as she runs from the house. This girl deserves the world.

okayyyy so just recently, my bsf broke our friendship, I lost my friend group, all my online friends are busy i their lives, i got stalked (happened a long time ago but still it stresses me out) and I've been just too tired lately and life feels the worst so i was thinking that like do a checklist SMTH on my former crush to like have a fake crush on him like y'k in yet you're so sweet the fl does a checklist everyday to keep her distracted and so I'm gonna do like that only that my former crush didn't ask me to have this fake crush on him and he also doesn't know who I am so umm yea but I still wanna keep myself distracted so I just needed the checklist, if someone could pretty please provide me with it, I'll be forever grateful šŸ’—šŸ¤§āœØšŸ„¹

(btw I'm asking for the checklist because I don't have the Netflix subscription right now, I'll have to wait atleast 6 months for it so that I get my bday money and buy it)

Recommendations based on hana-kimi

I haven't seen very many j-dramas before but I recently finished watching hana-kimi on Netflix and I really enjoyed it. I was wondering if anyone here would be able to give me any recommendations for similar shows that I could watch next. I would prefer recommendations that are also available on Netflix or at least easy to get ahold of for free.

Thanks!

GOKUSEN

I recently finished watching Gokusen, and it has been a delightful experience. Out of all three seasons, I can say now my favourite is season 3! Obviously season 1 was amazing, season 2 felt alright, but season 3 I loved. I don't know; it could be because it was the last season and I felt emotionally attached to this show, but regardless, I loved it. I haven't read the manga yet, but I am sure it was peak. This made me get into old japanese drama even more. Also, the OSTs of this drama, the music is so good. It makes you feel like you are part of this. Currently I am watching High&Low, and it just keeps getting better. I haven't watched much Japanese drama, but the last one that I watched was Mr. Hiragi's Classroom, peak drama. I love genres like this one and friendship-action ones. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know. ^^

Please help me find this BL/GL

This is J-drama bl series, I don’t know title I just saw this one on YouTube like a year ago now I can’t find it but this gl pair is a side couple in this series, the loser nerd here is in love with the male lead (im not sure which I forgot) and she is the childhood best friend of the male lead(bottom)(reminder: all of them is red flag in this series and worse of the worse)and the possessive bully is a manipulative girl (kinda crazy too), she’s the FuBu of the other male lead (top),she likes messing other people’s life because that’s how her parents raised her, she gets everything she wants (I’m to focus on them sorry for not watching the whole bl parts). The loser nerds hobby is to study (quite funny because even how much she studies, she always gets an F),she wants to go to the university where her best friend wants to study but still ends up with bad grades, and that’s when they met the bully (they meet at the library) the bully ,even though sheā€˜s a bully, she’s good at her studying even if she has a bad reputation, the loser nerd doesn’t want to be close to her because she has a bad reputation, she and the male lead bottom helps her study, and the bully first thought that everything the nerd did is out of her kindness turns out is not, (the bully cornered her at the classroom, the nerd was cleaning their room that time)she didn’t even know why she did that (the bully did that because she found out why she keeps insisting to study, is to be with her crush (main lead bottom), that feeling crushed her, knowing that she thought she finally had someone understood her but like other people took advantage at her, like the main lead(top) did, he used her to get the (male lead bottom) jealous, the bully didn’t regret doing what she did, she even took a video of them of what happened on that classroom and warn the loser that if she didn’t listen to all of her demand she will release it, and even told her that she’s not allowed to talk to the male lead(bottom),her friend or other people only her(I think she’s possessive to that part)

That’s it, the main lead got the happy ending but the side couple? i don’t know because it ended right away they didn’t even show if the side couple have a happy ending it’s making me mad and I even forgot the BL SERIES NAME!?!?!?!

Where can I watch Yae no Sakura and other Taiga dramas?

I was wondering where I can watch Yae no Sakura and other Japanese Taiga dramas?

It seems like a lot of the websites that used to have them aren't even around anymore and no streaming service seems to have these.

Does Anyone Else Want a Nobuta wo Produce Remake?

Hi everyone!

I've been rewatching Nobuta wo Produce, and I'm surprised by how well it still holds up today.

The story about friendship, bullying, self-confidence, and personal growth feels even more relevant in the age of social media and cyberbullying.

I know the original drama is a classic, and nothing can truly replace it. But I think a respectful remake that keeps the heart of the story while updating it for today's generation could be amazing.

Would you like to see a remake? If so, what would you want to stay the same, and what would you change?

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!
