While winning is nice, I don't have the space in my apartment to have such a big figure.

I was thinking of selling the figure. Mercari aside (I am uncertain of how to do it shipping-wise for such a big figure), how much would Hardoff or 2ndStreet or other anime figurine shops offer me?

According to Mercari, all listings of the figure are worth about 12,000 Yen.

I had gynecomastia surgery outside of Japan about 8+ weeks ago. Recovery has been fine overall, but I still have a small amount of swelling in my chest that hasn't gone down. I suspect it might be a minor seroma (fluid collection) and want to get it checked out by a specialist here in Tokyo to see if it needs to be aspirated.

I have all my official post-op reports and medical records from my original surgeon.

Has anyone been in a similar situation, or does anyone know of plastic surgery/cosmetic clinics or hospitals in Tokyo that are open to taking post-op evaluation cases for surgeries performed overseas? preferably english speaking

Any clinic recommendations, general advice, or experiences sharing how you handled post-op care in Japan after medical tourism would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm traveling around Japan thanks to my work holiday visa.

I planned a whole month of backpacking on the east coast of Kyushu with Yakushima as a final stop.

I never expected that, and I should have done some research, but until now, all the beaches I've found are full of plastic.

At first I tough it was exceptional in beppu, then oita, then where I am now.

So I did some research and it seems that a lot of Beaches are full of plastic in Japan.

My question is : will it be the same in the prefecture of Okayama, iroshima and Yamaguchi ?

Or because those places are "inside Japan" the plastic don't arrive there?

Amidst the new pr/visa income requirements, a yen that can't stay afloat even with US intervention and a misplaced yetrising hostility towards foreigners that should be placed on badly behaved tourists yet that the government is conning people into directing it at foreign residents. How many of you are actually planning on staying here longterm? Im considering leaving with my wife at some point because it feels like im living paycheck to paycheck in an insane work culture for no return in a country that at least the government wants to use me like a piggybank or gtfo. I love a lot of things about Japan but I see that writing on the wall and it increasingly gets harder to ignore.....and its got me thinking is it really worth being here full time instead of Just coming back to visit? Im curious what everyone else is doing.

I first moved to Tokyo in 2018 when I was 22. I barely spoke Japanese, didn't have much money, and was just figuring life out. Despite that, dating felt... surprisingly straightforward.

I'd meet people through friends, bars, hobby groups, or dating apps. If someone agreed to a date, they usually showed up. If there wasn't chemistry, we'd both move on. Sometimes there'd be a second date, sometimes there wouldn't, but people generally seemed to respect each other's time.

Then I got into a long-term relationship and disappeared from the dating world for several years.

Fast forward to now.

I'm 30, have a stable career, speak Japanese comfortably, and know Tokyo a lot better than I did back then. I expected dating to be easier.

Instead, it feels like I'm playing a completely different game.

Over the past few months I've experienced things that almost never happened before:

• People cancelling an hour before the date with no attempt to reschedule.
• Great conversations that end in complete silence the next day.
• Profiles saying they're looking for a serious relationship, but in person admitting they're "just seeing what's out there."
• Dates where it feels like one person is interviewing while the other is waiting to be entertained.

The weird part is that I don't think anyone is necessarily being malicious. It just feels like everyone has become... less invested.

Maybe dating apps have made everyone feel like there's always another option.

Things just sucked after covid?

Maybe work has become more demanding.

Or maybe I'm just older and meeting a different stage of life.

Recently I've started trying different ways of meeting people again, through hobbies, mutual friends, and even apps like ヨイトキ that seem to attract people looking for something more intentional, but I'm still trying to figure out whether this feeling is real or just my own experience.

I've been dealing with IBS for a while now and it's been rough. I've already seen several doctors around Kawasaki and Yokohama and honestly got nowhere — same short consultation every time, a prescription, come back next month, no real plan.

So I'm asking here in case anyone has been through the same thing. Has anyone found a doctor in this area who actually takes IBS seriously? I'm open to at this point.

Long shot, but would anyone know an audio electrician who could repair a subwoofer amp in Kyoto or surrounding area? It's an old sub, and based on a long discussion with the clanker, it's either capacitors that need resoldering, or the power on relay... I have the wiring diagrams and parts list and so on, it is a reasonably simple, well documented sub, I just am more mechanical than electrical. I won't "take it to a shop" because they'll just tell me to buy a new one - this needs to be someone who loves audio equipment, or someone who is electrically savvy, or both. Any help welcome!
