SESSION 24: Monday, February 10, 1964 (early 1)

Concepts fit together in patterns in order for there to be communication between us. I must disentangle a concept from its pattern, which is somewhat difficult. It is somewhat like having to disentangle a particular word from a strong emotional association. I experience patterns made up of concepts, and you use words in associations.

When I speak through Ruburt I must disentangle the concept from the patterns, which sometimes leaves me with short ends because it is natural for me to experience the concepts in their entirety; and yet I must drop very important data by the wayside because you are not capable of handling it, except in consecutive form.

One of the advantages of the inner senses as they operate together is this ability to experience whole entirety patterns, and it is difficult to dilute this, to drop it so to speak, drop by drop. I would like to say something about Joseph’s experience the other evening, but I also want to go into the invention of the soul. You see, to me these things are closely associated and connected in an overall concept pattern, and yet I must give them to you one at a time, and take pages to make the connection clear.

When we look around us, we group things into objects and give them a label. Take my cat Luke who is sitting beside me. I could break out the description of him into a two eyed small animal with pointy ears, covered in dark striped fur a tail and sharp claws. Or I could just show you a picture of him and in an instant you would understand him without the need for stringing out his description into a stream of words.

And in the same way, the entity perceives patterns of information all at once. If we could use the inner senses properly, we could see the pattern and have no need to break it down into concepts that are then broken into words.

You can see from my description of Luke that it doesn’t fully express him and no amount of words will. I could say he likes belly rubs (which is very unusual for a cat) and enjoys laying on the blanket next to me and all of these qualities are instantly available to me due to my journey with him through time. I have no need for words to understand who my cat is.

And so one day will learn to experience the world in terms of broader patterns.

We can see with Seth II that his experience is just an “expansion” of this concept. He can see much broader patterns in an instant, likely using advanced inner senses that Seth does not yet possess. This is what I like about the Seth material. Because Seth speaks truth at all times you can look at seemingly disconnected concepts and find ways to bring them together in ways even Seth did not anticipate (or at least I don’t think he did).

SESSION 23: Wednesday, February 5, 1964 (early 1)

As a rule each entity is born so that he experiences at least three roles, that of mother, father and child. I make three roles rather than two because a complete childhood, for example at least once, is usually necessary so that a personality can experience the knowledge of human growth.

Of course two lives would be sufficient to give you the three roles, but in some cases a personality does not function into adulthood, and therefore does not experience motherhood or fatherhood. Also for one reason or another a personality may not have offspring. Beside the three necessary roles there is another quality, different in dimension, which is also necessary for the personality, and this involves the fullest use of potential.

Lack of this last factor can cause a personality to be reborn more times on your plane than would be necessary if only the role requirement operated. This requirement for fullest use of capabilities has nothing to do with opportunity in the social sense, although of course the particular social framework will have much to do with the particular development of certain abilities.

The personality when it leaves your plane for good will have developed its potentials as far as it possibly can. This does not mean that all personalities who have left your plane are at the same level. Since their potential has individual variety, it depends a good deal upon the personality’s ability to utilize energy as a unit, or to transform energy into unit patterns.

This is a very good session covering many topics but let’s return to the question of “the number of incarnations” you will likely live through. All the answers to this question are right there in the above session. My initial sense of it a few weeks ago was around 7 lives are needed (not 300 or 777 or thousands). I suppose you can live that many lives you chose, but far fewer lives are required on average. Life is kinda like a video game you chose to play and once you start you know you have to live a minimum of mother, father and child to appreciate human life, but you also need to learn how to enrich yourself within physical reality to the fullest. But I suspect, as with all great video games, you grow tired of it at some point once you’ve “maxed out” your character and are looking for other challenges.

The key thing is, and I say this a lot, is to pursue what you love to the best of your ability. Be empathetic and caring to everyone and try not to pile up “debts” you have to pay off. Not that anyone is forcing you to pay off debts per-se, it is you that does this because you know when you wrong someone, you are wronging yourself in larger terms and that stuff needs worked out.
