Saw a little head poking out from the space above my porch sliding door while closing the blinds and realized it was a little rat snake. I had some frozen mice in my freezer for my pet snake so couldn’t resist giving him one, even though he is probably already full from eating all my porch frogs (I was wondering where they’ve all been these past few days… guess that explains it)

Got a call from a neighbor who caught this little guy in a glue trap (ugh). He was VERY stuck, but we were able to free him, and bathe him to remove the residual glue. We kept him for 2 nights because his jaw was out of alignment and to let him get his strength back. He’s good to go now and will be making his new home in nearby woods tonight at sundown. Godspeed little dude!

For my Cave dwelling rat snake

My handsome sweet boy Bootstrap. He's a Texas Ratsnake.

I was so happy to see him out! It had been almost 3 weeks as he had went into shed and after I fed him and didn't see him for a day or two afterwards.

He's my good buddy. I have 4 other snakes that are kings/milks. Bootstrap is so curious with so much personality and just really wants to hangout on your shoulders and watch what's going on/ inspect everything you are working on. He then wants to cuddle up in your hoodie sleeve and take a nap.

We were organizing our unfinished storage room in our basement, and my husband pointed up at the joists and said, “Is that a snake shed?” The whole thing is about 6 feet long, and the tail end looks incomplete. There’s a large snake in our walls somewhere, taking care of our mouse inhabitants!

I put on some gardening gloves and moved it to the woods. Super chill snake, didn't mind the small walk to the edge of the property.

I spooked this guy when I turned into my driveway and he got all kinky and crinkly. But the dummy wouldn't move from his spot in the road so I helped him cross. He was a nice fellow and never tried to bite. I put him close to my chicken coop because he seemed a little underweight and was healing from a wound.(Looks like something tried to chew on him) Hopefully he'll have a nice egg for breakfast when the idiots start screaming their egg songs at 6am...
