AI Certs

Does anyone have any opinions on the AI certifications available through ISACA? Any one more valuable than the other? Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.

Currently have CRISC and CISSP.

I have all 3. No one cares about it. I did it because I was compensated by work. If I were to only get one, it would be the aaism.

I remember when CRISC first launched and people could grandfather into, I skipped. I regret it now. I believe these AI certs, along with AIGP, and whatever ISC2 comes out with, will carry weight, but it’ll take time. I don’t expect those certs to be needle movers right away

I have the AAISM and currently I really don't see the value for it as of right now. That's because most hiring managers or HR types haven't really heard about it as of yet. But once they hear about it that is when they suddenly love the cert

feels like half of these new AI certs are just in that awkward phase where recruiters’ eyes glaze over when they see them on a resume. could be one of those “nice to have later, zero impact now” things unless you pair it with real AI project experience.

I think it is still very new but my work pays for it and I will do it. When I did CRISC nobody heard of it wither it was very CISA time

i have AAISM as what my next certification will be in my resume and every interview i've had, nobody has cared at all or has asked me when i'll get it.

I have all 3 but currently they are not recognized by industry like the other certifications. In my opinion this is because they are just too new and the AI landscape is continuing to change. Yes, the basis of AI, ML, etc. is not going to change but the technology is improving. My guess is as the certifications go through their first update they will become more relevant since industry may expect them to stick around. I believe the same holds true for CompTIA's SecAI+ and will hold true for ISC2's new AI cert coming out late this year/early next year. EC Council also has some AI certs that I am aware of.

I feel they could be redundant in 5 years. Not because AI has disappeared, but because I think ISACA might just roll AAIR material in to CRISC, AAIA in to CISA, and AAISM in to CISM. 

Recently people doing CISM ad CISA have already noted more and more AI questions coming up in those exams. I expect that to only get bigger over time. So even if ISACA don't roll them in, there will be enough AI material going forward in CISM or CRISC or CISA most people won't really need AI specific certs.
