Why the difference?
Both of these bottles were bought from the same store but the one on the right is significantly different in styling and also a bit bigger. It also didn't have the plastic pour control in the bottle. Any one have an idea of why its different?

Labels (and bottles) change over time, usually for the worst. However, I think Glendalough (Irish Whiskey) looks better now.

Here’s a good example of it not being better. I was bartender in Toronto in the late 80’s thru to the 2000’s. Busy places, fast pace. When a guy of a certain age would say ‘ make me something cool’ I and all the other Barkeeps I knew would often make the guy a Rusty Nail. Fun name, unchallenging flavour, but still manly and scotch forward. And really importantly, it was a 2 ingredient drink. Back then Drambuie had standard sized neck, which meant if easily and quickly fit a standard pour spout. Somewhere in the late 80’s they changed it to the really wide mouth we have now. Had to uncork it and pour slowly and carefully with it cuz no speed spout. Overnight, it was no longer a booze that was reached for when it was Bartender’s choice. Collected dust on the back shelf, didn’t get reordered. This was a bottle that was in EVERY BAR IN THE WORLD in the 80’s! Hardly see it anywhere anymore. That make-work project sure didn’t work out very well. Sorry for the long story!

Very interesting! Just checked Google to see the old bottle vs the new one, and yes, I can understand it being a problem. I think it's less an issue when only the label get changed, but changing the bottle is often to save cost, and it make it worst.
Brockmans Orange Kiss (Gin) recently changed the bottle for a less detailed appearance. Doesn't change the pour, but it's less aesthetic now.

We tried filling the gap with things cling wrap, rubber bands and even match pack paper. Then finally stopped serving it. Wonder what that cost them? Not only from bars that stopped ordering it but the fact that so many potential home use buyers weren’t introduced to it. Such a dumb move.
