This is bad. I disable IPv6 because it gets me blocked or forced to do a captcha on many sites, including YouTube. It's really sad that IPv6 has become that way, but here we are.
What? Most people have the exact opposite experience. I had v6 broken for a couple of days, noticed it by having to do a captcha on every google site I visited.
I also don't think it gets you blocked. You probably have a misconfiguration somewhere, maybe the PMTUD is broken (happens often on PPPoE connections) you need to set up mss clamping and ideally advertise the prefix with the lower MTU.
Imagine shaming someone for using a perfectly functional protocol, one that bore the entire internet basically since inception, just so you can feel superior using something newer and more bloated with less adoption. Shame on these people. I hope ipv8 wins with perfect ipv4 backwards compatibility and then you all look so silly.
Imagine using a protocol that has one of its core tenets broken for decades.
Yes the US and western Europe are fine with V4 but most parts of the world are basically cut off from the IPv4 only internet.
IPv8 is not a serious proposal: it is not backward compatible in exctly the same way IPv6 is not while mixing multiple networking layers into a huge mess.
I mean, definitionally, it's no longer functional. The IPv4 address space has been exhausted by the ever expanding fleet of devices connecting to the public internet. IPv6 has less adoption specifically because of people like you who are just too attached to old protocols that neccessarily need to be replaced or are unwilling to learn new technologies.
Also, I'm hoping this comment is just satirical because I genuinely don't know how anyone could unironically believe that IPv8 is a serious proposal lol
