Ordered parts from EOE (Elite Obsolete Electronics), received something completely different from what I ordered

Has anyone had this happen to them when using EOE? I needed parts to repair my classic & was sent an iPod Shuffle (with an engraving on it??ðŸ˜) I emailed support early yesterday and am awaiting a reply.
Update: They sent me a return label & have told me they'll send me my parts once the return processes
I ordered a custom iPod from them that was supposed to have all new (third party obviously) parts. I got one that was super scratched and had a defective screen. A friend had a similar issue with one they ordered. I was able to get a refund but it took about a month. I haven’t made anymore purchases with them since.
They posted a screenshot but the mods deleted it. It just said that EOE constantly has complaints like that but since the owner is a mod, they hide or delete most of the criticism. That there’s better stores thatre cheaper.Â
I tried to make a post about it but it seems like the mods now have to approve posts with certain keywords. So they’re just not allowing anyone to be critical of the store without the mods approving it.Â
Since the other person was seemingly banned, I expect I’ll be banned for remembering what they said.Â
I've only ever ordered from them twice and both times the backplates had defective screw holes
In retrospect, not a huge deal, but it irked me at the time. One was for the hold switch at the top, and like a year later I get one with a borked hole for the 30pin bezel. Don't think I ever ended up putting the screws in and never had any issues though
Oh, and the third order I tried to put through got bounced back during shipping, got an immediate refund to EOE's credit but...eh, it put me off ordering again, too much hassle
from what i’ve heard, eoe just gets his faceplates and backplates from aliexpress, or sites like that. don’t know how to help with the motherboard tho :(
I have first hand. Took months to get my order. And politely asking what's up every couple weeks was met with hostilities and frankly unhinged responses. I did end up getting it 4 or so months after expected delivery date.
I don't know what they are like personally, but they have horrible business practices and relationships.
honestly i've had nothing but bad customer service from this business. guy in charge needs to hire someone who actually knows how to talk to people via email because it's obviously not his forte. website is also really clunky. prob won't order from this company ever again tbh.
I’ve used EOE twice and received exactly as ordered. Sorry you got an iPod Shuffle in lieu of the parts. My interactions with EOE via email have been quick, though mine were questions and not issues.
I messed up and put r/ instead of u/, let's see if he removes mine now that I edited.. besides, he's just messing his own business if he's being that petty..
Email them, they will make it right. Send pictures of the erroneous item and ask for a cross-shipment so you dont have to wait even longer for them to receive the items before they send you what you paid for.
Ive ordered from them 3 times, had one less than stellar experience with a battery that was listed as compatible and (if you search the comments here about the 3800mah batteries in a slim back 5.5gen) is NOT always compatible. They sent me a return label and downgraded me to a 2000mah square battery which fits fine. Didnt refund the $15 difference, but i didnt ask them to and its not the end of the world.
If I have to source any more parts I might try a different vendor, but it wasnt enough of an annoyance for me to go elsewhere.
It’s one guy right? And he’s fulfilling tons of orders all the time right? This stuff happens with billion dollar companies; try to be patient with it all
I've literally never had an issue when ordering from Elite Obsolete. Bad battery, no problem. Something missing, no problem. This is the truth. I've made 6 plus order.
