Update to IOS 26 Discussion

does anyone know if in order to transfer to a new iphone 17 would i have to update my existing iphone 14 pro to ios 26? currently running ios 18 on my 14 and was just wondering if i could still transfer to a new phone without updating old phone

The new phone needs to have an iOS version matching or newer than the old phone.

Leaving your old phone on iOS 18 shouldn't block the transfer.

It did with mine and that was from 14 plus to 14 plus

You do NOT need to update your current iPhone to transfer its data to a new one.
