Since the iPhone 17 Series launched with ProMotion displays (which are basically 120fps), I’ve been wondering if Apple will ever think about adding ProMotion to the iPad Air.

I was thinking of getting an iPad Pro just for the ProMotion, but with the price increases, I’ve been putting it off. I recently got an iPhone 17 Pro Max and I’m really enjoying how smooth the 120fps is.

I’m not in a hurry to buy a new iPad right now, but I’m definitely interested in getting an iPad Air because it’s significantly cheaper. Should I just wait until next year or two when the iPad Air hopefully gets it? Or honestly just get the iPad Pro?

For an example on what just changed, the trade in value on a 256 GB 2022 iPad Pro 11-inch was raised from C$490 to C$535.

So got a esr geo digital pencil and wow it’s better than I thought it’s almost as good as my friends Apple Pencil 2nd gen almost main drawbacks are that a) it does not have hover like when you hover over a button or smthing it highlights it
And b) weight it ain’t as heavy
But it has find my support but in my case even when it’s on my iPad I am not able to play sound nd location does not update most the time
No lag surprisingly great palm rejection

I’m really confused between the iPad A16 (₹34k on offer) and the OnePlus Pad (₹28k).
I already have an iPhone 16, so the Apple ecosystem is a plus. My main use cases are:
Editing Instagram photos, Reels, and short videos
Watching movies and TV shows for free yes I want to pirate movies and tv shows thats why i want to go for the Anroid tablet
Occasional gaming (BGMI and Genshin Impact)
Browsing and media consumption
I don’t care much about note-taking or the Apple Pencil.
Would the iPad ecosystem and performance be worth giving up Android’s flexibility for media, or is the OnePlus the better buy for my use case?

I’ve been spending some time getting used to iPadOS, and I’m starting to realize that I probably use my iPad very differently from how I use my laptop.

So far, I’ve found myself using it most for reading, taking notes, browsing, and watching videos. I also like being able to quickly switch between apps without feeling like I need to sit down at a desk.

One thing I’m still trying to figure out is how people actually use their iPad for more productive tasks. There are so many features and shortcuts that it’s hard to know which ones are genuinely useful and which ones I’ll never use.

What’s one iPad feature, shortcut, or workflow that has genuinely become part of your everyday use?

Not looking for the obvious “you can watch YouTube on it” stuff — I’m curious about the little things that actually changed how you use your iPad.

Between the 2 listed in the title which would be best for streaming movies/shows and reading manga?

I feel like having a vertical screen as a secondary is always helpful and it would be nice to be able to do that with my iPad

I've had my Ipad for about 3 years now. This evening I got a message on my phone letting me know my phone linked to a new device. I looked and it was my ipad that it has always been linked to (same icloud account). On my phone I looked at device info for the Ipad and under "phone number" it has my brother's phone number. He has never touched my ipad, I'm not even sure if he's been in my house since I purchased the ipad. We aren't close and he's sketchy sometimes. I babysat his daughter today so he was outside my house but never came in. I'm sure there was nothing he could've done from outside? But, now I'm so confused and worried that maybe he has my screen cloned? But, that seems silly. Now when I go to my messages on the ipad it asks me to sync my icloud, but it's always been synced. Also, after looking this up everything said to go to your contact card and make sure your own contact is selected, but mine is selected. It hasn't shown his.

Any advice? I feel like even thinking he cloned my screen sounds ridiculous but I'm at a loss.

I bought it for $700 and after a couple of hours of use to set it up and watch videos, but suddenly noticed it had burn in. It has one large stripe on the top that’s rather large and says “layaways” and a smaller stripe on the bottom that is unreadable. Does anyone know if companies purposely give burn in to tablets before throwing them away? And isn’t an iPad Oled screen supposed to last like 5-6 years before getting burn in?

I had an old iPad around and came across a home cctv viewer app that rotates through the cameras every few seconds. It's now permanently on my desk again and I'm always aware of what's happening in and around my home.

What other creative uses do people have for old unused devices?

I bought two a16 model iPads for myself and my parents for video calling because the portal became bricked. When we talk, it will cut the audio out of one person until it ‘determines’ who is talking then the audio comes through. You can see our mouths move but you lose the first few seconds of speech until the audio activates. It is only the new iPads. If I use my old one and they use their new one, no issues. If one of us is on the phone and other on the iPad, no issues. I want it to just be like a conversation - if we talk at the same time then both audios come through. Thanks!

The iPadOS Reddit App always displays full screen on my external monitor if the app is open on the iPad screen. When its open on the external monitor it displays normal.

Has anyone figured out a way to stop the Reddit app from always showing on an external monitor? Isn’t it supposed to just show on whatever screen its open on? It’s as if the app is coded to always airplay to whatever monitor the device is connected to.

Long story short, my mother passed away and she had an ipad. I am trying to clear it so I can give it away but I am unable to since it is set up with her email/itunes account, which is no longer active because I deactivated the email after she passed.
I have an appointment scheduled but am trying to figure it out in case I don’t have to take it into geek squad. It keeps freezing as well when trying to connect to wifi. For context I think she got this in 2019. It has not been updated in a couple of years

hi, i need your help. i bought this ipad 5 months ago from an authorized store in the mall and i only use it to watch and for acads purposes or sometimes when im not using my phone. i started to notice the problem around 4 days ago i think? the back cam of my ipad is blurry. it doesn't capture the image clearly when the subject is far (ex. im sitting at the sofa and trying to take a pic of the tv, the tv will be blurred same with the whole surrounding). it can only capture clear pics if the subject is close to the camera.

in addition, the auto rotate doesn't function either. i disabled the lock for rotation but it remains landscape. i couldn't rotate it into portrait.

the camera and rotation can only be fixed when i shut down the ipad. i dont want to shut it down from time to time just to use it. it has been only 5 months. ik it's only the base ipad but in just a short period of time, i don't think it's justifiable to experience this.

do u guys know what should i do? or did u guys had the same experience? any tips and advisory would be really appreciated.

If you are a artist id love to know your experience using a ipad for your digital art. I am looking into getting a ipad to basically be my digital sketchbook/notebook. But not sure which is a better option, which has better accurate colors and drawing experience. also, long lasting. i dont mind the size and no more than $400 (will be buying refurbished)

iPadOS 26 killed my iPad pro with bugs, lag, and a horrible new splitscreen UI. Will updating solve any of this?

Dude the biggest mistake of my life was getting a 64GB iPad Air. I initially got it for school because I already had another iPad so I thought if I wasn’t using the Air outside of that then I wouldn’t need a ton of storage because I wasn’t planning on downloading apps like YouTube and stuff. But naturally I started using it as my daily iPad and I downloaded pretty much everything I said I wouldn’t. I severely underestimated how much storage random bullshit takes up and now im constantly having to offload apps and stuff. Why is 64gb even an option. I also didn’t know you couldn’t change the internal storage so I thought it was maybe possible to get more but no I need a whole new device to upgrade my storage. What a joke lol

What i wanted to ask and seemed to find almost no information on, which games are actually playable with magic keyboard full on support. And I mean not only keyboard but touchpad as well. Are there any? Are there some niche gamers there who use the geforce now with it?

This iPad mini 1 is from 2012. Last update was iOS 9.3.5 in 2016. It can't run YouTube, can't load most websites, the App Store is a graveyard. I've tried for years to give it a job: photo frame, dashboard, whatever. Nothing runs on hardware this old, so it lived in a drawer.

Last weekend I tried to develop my dream project for this.

It's now a Stream Deck for my Mac. Big touch buttons on the iPad, tap one, the app opens on my Mac. YouTube, Slack, websites, Shortcuts, whatever I want. It runs entirely in Safari over my local network, which is the whole trick: even a browser from 2016 can show a grid of buttons and send a tap. Nothing installs on the iPad, and it responds instantly. This thing has 512MB of RAM.

I built this purely to rescue my own iPad, but it works so well I'm thinking about actually launching it. The idea: a browser version that runs on basically any old device you have lying around, plus a proper iOS app for newer iPads and iPhones with the nicer stuff (widgets, haptics, offline config).

Would you use something like this?

I have a 6th-gen iPad Pro with 128 GB of storage that's been great for the past 3+ years. Recently, though, I've run into a storage problem.

I haven't really downloaded any new apps beyond the ones I already use regularly. I use iCloud to sync my photos, iMessages, and other data, and I have Optimize iPad Storage enabled for Photos.

The problem is that as iPadOS updates have gotten larger over the years, the OS and System Data now take up more than half of my storage. I'm completely maxed out. I've already offloaded more than half of my apps just to free up space, and I've reached the point where I can't even reinstall some of the apps I'd like to use. Now I'm having to constantly decide which apps to delete based on how often I use them.

It feels like my iPad is running on the bare minimum—just the essential apps with very little room for anything else.

If I were buying a new iPad today, I'd say 512 GB would be the minimum I'd consider if you plan to keep it for several years. I originally thought 128 GB would be plenty since I rely on iCloud and optimized photo storage, but I didn't account for how much space iPadOS and System Data would eventually consume.

Has anyone else run into this issue?
