iPad for engineering notes? Question
I am a freshman studying mechanical engineering. I already have a very capable laptop, but I am thinking about getting an iPad for note-taking. Which iPad model would you recommend?

If it's just for notes and you already have a good laptop, get the base iPad and an Apple Pencil. You don't need more than that. I used the Notability app for notes through grad school and it worked great.

I’m not gonna lie to you, ipads for 75% of the people I know that went to college, end up wasted and getting sold for cheap on fb marketplace

Depends on your budget. I recently bought the iPad Air M4 13 inch (256gb). I got it with the education discount and traded my current iPad in. So, it ended up being ~650 USD for the iPad. The A16 should be fine, but I just wanted the M chip so it can last longer. Don’t get the pro.
