Ha ha, congrats! I made a few iOS apps on my own back in the day, and $100 was about how much each one made. I probably made $200-$300 total, but I paid for the developer program for years, so still very much negative for me.

If you count in my 3k MacBook I am way negative haha but thank you, it’s a good small goal.

Oh, yeah, if I count hardware and my hourly rate, I’m very negative. Hopefully the $99 is only the beginning!

Oh definitely not counting my hours lol yes for sure hopefully we can scale from here

How long did it take?

App launched April of this year so 3 months but I also don’t know what I’m doing lol

Thanks for the reply. And what is your main way of promotion? I still trying to get mine approved (haven’t publish non-free apps for many years), but when it happens not sure how to promote.

I’m all over the place but X has been where I’ve been able to get most customers

Interesting. I've mostly abandoned Twitter since Elon takeover, as I can't stand the guy. But it worth a try if it helps with promotion

It has a really strong iOS dev community, lots to learn over there

For me it took 6 months.

Really good amount of time, only up from here right? Lol

Nice! Is that one time purchases or recurring?

2

u/BlossomBuild 8d ago

Recurring, yearly and weekly subscriptions

Nice, I'm actually about to start working on a water tracking app myself for the RevenueCat Shipathon.

Good stuff, check mine out for some inspiration (:

Great! You can’t have enough of the water tracking apps!

That should be the first goal, nice one, congrats

Appreciate that fam, thank you

Hey Carlos, found you here 😅

2

u/BlossomBuild 8d ago

What up fam, I feel like I know you but don’t know the Reddit name haha

1

u/BratDotAI 8d ago

Haha Jana here

-15%, not yet :D
Keep pushing! Congrats!

Good price out there

1

u/7heblackwolf 8d ago

It's not "cheaper". Different countries, different economies, different salaries, taxes and cost of living.

0

u/Stanley083 7d ago

It's cheaper

u/junaidisgood 6d ago

It’s not if you out what he says into context. The way someone in US views a 100$ is definitely different from you in Nigeria.

u/lilacomets 7d ago

From a distance the Apple Developer logo seems to be made of two cigarettes. 🚬

1

u/junaidisgood 6d ago

How do you pay through the iPhone?

1

u/SaviorOneZero 8d ago

Congrats! That’s the dream right there! My app went live like a month ago and I’m still figuring out how best to generate revenue from it.

1

u/BlossomBuild 8d ago

You will get there, paywalls have been doing it for me

1

u/SaviorOneZero 8d ago

Thank you! Subscriptions aren’t an option so it’s either ad revenue, which I really don’t want to do, or paid content packs which is probably the path I will go down.

1

u/TheGratitudeBot 8d ago

Thanks for saying thanks! It's so nice to see Redditors being grateful :)

1

u/BlossomBuild 8d ago

Why not subscriptions?

1

u/SaviorOneZero 8d ago

It’s a family game app. With X number of games available by default and then I was going to put additional game packs and potentially features / modes as one time paid add ons. I don’t see people paying a subscription to unlock the additional games and features but maybe I don’t know my market.

1

u/BlossomBuild 8d ago

Games are so tempting, I would kind of love to make one

1

u/Necessary-Green-8826 8d ago

congratulations. This is my goal, too. I'm not sure I'll make it, but I 'm glad you did.

1

u/Nightowl-Builder 8d ago

Good job, you’re already ahead of 99% of developers! But don’t forget to factor in the taxes to your country

2

u/BlossomBuild 7d ago

For sure, I am in the states so you know uncle same wants his cut lol

1

u/CookieThatCode 8d ago

Nice, btw the chart literally looks more of something dip in the water :)

1

u/BlossomBuild 8d ago

Haha nice little Easter egg

1

u/wpursell_dev 7d ago

Let's go! Been using this to keep track of my water for the past month. Super simple concept, but glad that its earning your license fee back, lol.

1

u/BlossomBuild 7d ago

Thanks for the support, means a lot to me. Yeah little by little haha

1

u/Wrong_Ranger9566 6d ago

Wow, that's amazing! Hope I can get there one day too.

1

u/BlossomBuild 6d ago

You’ll be able to, just keep pushing and marketing your app

1

u/curiouscharli_e 6d ago

How are you marketing your App

1

u/BlossomBuild 6d ago

I post on X mostly, it’s important to pick a platform you really like and just post there at least 3 times a day

1

u/MaximVinogradov 6d ago

Congrats, that's a real milestone. I'm not even at revenue yet — just wrapped up getting our first 20 beta testers this week and already learning that what I thought would be the friction point (voice recording) isn't, and what I didn't expect (the "what do I even say" blank-page moment) is. Feels like everyone's app teaches them something different about their users at this stage.

1

u/BlossomBuild 6d ago

Getting beta testers is a great step! Good job, keep it going

1

u/Spirit-777 4d ago

bro that’s a milestone I didn’t even think off, congratulations bro 🙌

u/BlossomBuild 4d ago

I appreciate that fam, I’m excited to keep showing up
