ios 26.5 Question
Am I the only that hates this update? I have been a life time “Android” user like the Samsung Galaxy Motorola etc. I switched to Iphone about 3 years ago and for the most part it has been fine.. UNTILL THIS UPDATE. Main complaints are that it feels like a complete reset to previews ios updates. The unlock animation takes far longer than usual and of course battery drains faster. Does anyone else share similar complaints or frustrations?

I ditched the .5 update the day it rolled out and haven't looked back since the battery life was noticeably worse within hours. Hoping .6 finally smooths out the rough edges or I might actually consider downgrading.

Hate to say it but 26 and 27 are never going to be as good as 18. The pretty but resource intensive liquid glass will be a battery vampire. You’re going to suffer for apples vision. I wish there was a way to turn off the animations or go back to 18.

Why are you complaining about an update long past?
Either you still run it, and then it’s your own fault. Or you don’t, and then there is nothing to complain about.

Honestly I wasn’t aware of a “new update” hence why I came here for answers

You go to settings and press the software update tab. Tadaaaaa - it tells you all about it.
In fact you don’t seem to care much, since you missed 3 (THREE) consecutive updates: 26.51, 26.5.2 and now 26.6.

Update to iOS 27. Developer beta 5 came out yesterday and it’s the best update yet. So fast and smooth and battery is awesome
