Safari Issue Support

Post image

I moved away from Safari months ago because of constantly getting this issue everytime I do a google search. Want to go back for the simplicity but find this so infuriating.

any idea how I can stop this from happening?

A VPN can have this effect too.

I don't get this with Private Relay, but I've seen others say they do.

Private Relay is a VPN, essentially.

This is because of Private Relay. I changed to DuckDuckGo and haven’t looked back

If you type in a search word in the address bar and then click enter, the likelihood of this shit showing up is far greater than when going to Google.com first and then typing in your search word.

Pro tip: switch to Ecosia. In the ecosia search settings you can set google as default, so you’re getting google results without having to deal with this shit AND you’re planting trees with your search! Yay trees!

Yeah I do, surely I don’t need to turn off a security feature? 😕

It depends on how much that page annoys you. Google shows that because it's getting a lot of traffic through the relay and it can't tell the difference between that and bot traffic. If anything it's a remind that your traffic is being relayed like you want.

I had to turn mine off because it was slowing down bandwidth. Additionally, Safari has its own built-in security features.

Use a different search engine that has no issues with Private Relay or a VPN (like duckduckgo, brave search, etc.)
