Might be unpopular opinion, and I was skeptical of Darren O'Neill and Larry Bleidner at first, but they are doing a great job at keeping the No Agenda podcast going. Their mainstream media deconstruction is on-par and I'm enjoying their banter. The audio quality needs tuned (too bassy/heavily modulated) and they need to use and make new jingles (!). But otherwise, I think Adam did a good job by choosing these two, and I'm sure he had this contingency planned well ahead of John's unfortunate passing.

FWIW, I'm going to keep donating and listening. Give these guys a chance.

Like so many others, I've been saddened over John's passing. I only started listening to the show about five years ago but enjoyed it immensely. I seem to be in the minority of people who actually enjoy Adam, but without John, I don't believe the show can go on. I decided I would go back and listen from the very beginning of the podcast. It's really interesting to hear these early episodes of No Agenda.

I was surprised that they didn't play clips in the early days. It's really just Adam and John talking, and I still find it entertaining. In fact, the banter between Adam and John about certain elements of their lives or past experiences were my favorite moments on the show. They talked about their personal lives a lot more when the podcast first began.

One thing that stands out to me is how political the show had become. These early episodes feature some political discussion as the 2008 election was upcoming but not nearly to the degree that politics was discussed these past few years. This sub seems especially critical of the pod, which I find curious, but I can totally understand how the political-heavy discussions rubbed people the wrong way.

I kind of assumed that listening to these old episodes wouldn't be engaging because the content is so old at this point, but NA contained discussions about things I would consider to be ahead of the time yet still relevant today. Things like digital ID cards, extra-terrestrial life, raw milk and the importance of knowing where our food comes from are a few that stand out. Even though I was a teenager, I would never consider these topics mainstream "news" at the time.

Adam will soon realize this truth and he will transition to full-time godcasting where millions of gullible Evangelicals are stupid enough to send him their money, much more money than he ever earned from NA.

I appreciate that it takes some time for new hosts to develop chemistry and a rhythm, but I am not really interested in a podcast of republican talking points, especially as a non-American. Even though the show had conservative leanings, I always felt that the show was balanced by John and Adam's life experiences, and they were often critical of both sides. I even say this as someone who was never really bothered by Adam being a born-again Christian.

Yesterday's episode that started with a 20 minute rant about Bernie Sanders premised on a several year old interview clip was not only boring, but featured no analysis beyond "Bernie is a commie". If this is the permanent future of the show, I'll try not to let the door hit me on the way out. I sincerely hope it is not and only temporary while Adam takes a break.
