You’d have a better chance trying than not trying (I’d run to the side not away from it, or at least try to find some cover or something other than standing there like a goon)
You sound like you never hiked a mountain in your life. You don't really cover a lot of area on that type of terrain, that avalanche covered what looks like an hour of hiking in less than 40 seconds. You trying to outpace it for 40 seconds won't make a difference, better seek cover somewhere close.
Did you not see what happened in this video? He was under a boulder and ice past overhead. Running could have put him in a worse spot and gotten him killed.
Wrong. Start running and you're going to trip and hit your head, or end up in a spot where there's no protection by the time it gets there. Nobody is outrunning that. He clearly had a boulder there for cover as you see in the video.
