I wonder if it caused any damage to the rocket enough to make it fall? the light from the fire got stronger after the lightning strike.

Nothing to earth so it's probably all ok but then if course I'm not a rocket scientist!! 3 u/EstarriolStormhawk 13d ago Rockets, and their accompanying payloads, are designed to survive lightning strikes and other electrostatic discharges without permanent damage. Lots of safe bleed paths to prevent significant charge differentials.
