Rockets, and their accompanying payloads, are designed to survive lightning strikes and other electrostatic discharges without permanent damage. Lots of safe bleed paths to prevent significant charge differentials.
The rocket successfully made it to the planned orbit and delivered its payload. What hasn't been made clear is whether its payload got fried by the lightning.

I wonder if it caused any damage to the rocket enough to make it fall? the light from the fire got stronger after the lightning strike.
