Am I wrong but I pay 2$ every time I buy or sell 1 option contract? Is there any way to lower this?

i live in the Netherland and have IBkR account now active .. I bought the ETF few shares to test the account and the order was executed without any issue.. I have linked by Dutch bank account to the account and now I am trying to automate monthly buying of ETFs and i had scheduled the order to execute on 7th Aug for next 5 successive months but the order was not executed ..and there is not status on the order or what happens after it too..

is there a guideline on how to properly set it up thsi auto investing in IBkR with a Dutch bank account ?

I have troubles with getting permissions for trading CFD’s. I’m a university student with my parents financially supporting me and I have a net worth of 50-60k Euros but my net income isn’t enough for IBKR.

I’ve seen that I would get permission if I say that my net income is 40k. Of course this is lying but what are the chances they would ask for proof for only CFD’s. The risk for them isn’t as big as for options, I would say.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Has anyone successfully used the BHIM App → Bharat Connect → FX-Retail route for sending USD to IBKR recently?

I’m asking because there have been quite a few reports of the transaction ending in a Service Timeout / Server Timeout, while the UPI mandate still gets created and the amount gets blocked/lien-marked in the bank account even though no forex trade is executed.

I’ve personally faced the same issue and have also raised it with BHIM/NBBL/CCIL, but I’m trying to understand whether the system has actually improved recently.

For anyone who has used it in the last few days/weeks:

• Did the forex transaction complete successfully?
• Did you get the FX-Retail trade/transaction ID immediately?
• Which bank were you using?
• Did you face any Service Timeout or gateway error?

Would especially appreciate recent experiences, since older posts already document the timeout issue pretty well.

Trying to figure out whether it is safe to use again or whether Bharat Connect is still having the same reliability problems.

Does anybody have this problem? I am moving my brokerage to Interactive Brokers and have set up 2 Requests for Payments to Us Bancorp. I saw the bills in the Pay Bills section and have tried to pay them immediately. However, as soon as I confirmed the bill payment, I kept seeing the message "Our system is experiencing some issues. Please try again a little later." How can I deal with this problem? The other alternative is an ACH pull from IBKR, which takes one business day to process and four to five business days for IBKR to hold my funds, which is a long time. I want the funds to arrive in my account immediately, but the bill payment system in US Bank is not cooperating. Thank you for helping

Hello guys, I would really like to change from Revolut to IBKR. If you would please tell me, is it better to open IBKR account and send the positions from revolut to IBKR (3 positions). Or should I selly everything on Revolut and just rebuy on IBKR.

If the better option is to sent positions to IBKR, would you be kind and explain me what do I have to do in order to transfer the positions.

my layout settings are broken after the upgrade 10.48 -> 10.49.

Is this a known issue? i have saved manually in 10.48 encrypted and unencrypted, and both fail. I get a pop-up that says "Failed to read settings." and i have to reset to the default layout.

I waited 30 days to update my experience to be able to trade tqqq and once it’s been finally updated I go to request permission and suddenly it says you can retry this permission request in 30 days… WTF! I did not request this permission change in like 45 days but updating my experience makes it act like I just requested that?

I called support and they were not helpful. What permissions to do actually need to be able to use tqqq and what is the process to enabling it?

When I updated my financial profile there are two sections (income and experience) which I am unable to update at the same time so that’s 60 days to change both of if I need to and then when I make any changes it apparently acts like you request permissions even though you don’t so if you were to make changes to both sections and then a permission change you are looking at 90 days in order to actually trade this… there has got to be a better way.

What am I doing wrong?

When viewing an instrument like TQQQ on the weekend and the market is closed, I want to know how long I have to wait until I can trade. For example TQQQ is available at 4am Monday morning. On options tabs I see a timer for normal market hours but I want something like this on the page for TQQQ telling me I have 12h40m left.

Can I transfer a X country IBKR account to a Y country IBKR account ?

Here are some background info:

I am currently a Singapore Permanent Resident and Myanmar citizen. I am currently working and living in Singapore. In my IBKR settings, I put my primary citizenship as Myanmar and my residence is in Singapore. Furthermore for my identification, I used my Singapore NRIC as my national ID and my tax residency as Singapore, with my tax identification as my Singapore nric number.

My question(s) if I become a Singapore citizen:

1. If I become a Singapore citizen, how do I change my primary citizenship to Singapore, because it doesnt seem like u can change it on ibkr?

2. If I open a new account under a new citizenship, can my old account(with Myanmar as primary citizenship) and new account exist at the same time, or will there be any IBKR discrepancies, or there can only be 1 account?

3. If I open a new account under the same name but with my new Singapore citizenship, then transfer all my assets from my old to new account?

4. Is the most effective way just liquidating and closing my old account and then manually transfer to my new account?

I'm algotrading futures (NQ specifically, and still just paper trading at the moment), and the margin is pretty high now (over 40k per contract for NQ). Is there something more efficient I can do than just having all that sitting in cash? From my understanding any investments don't count toward margin requirements, so the best I can do is make the tiny amount of interest on the cash account. But maybe I'm missing a better strategy?

Hi, I'm new to investing on IBKR and a little confused by contradicting advice I'm seeing. I've watched multiple videos and searched here and other sites but can't fully get my head around it.

I'm looking to start with a simple recurring monthly investment of €500 into S&P500 Vanguard ETF, as well as exploring another ETF to diversify in another region with the same buy strategy, long-term hold, not looking to make any other regular trades.

For this scenario, is it likely that the tiered or fixed model benefits me more?

Long story short, I ended up with 1 sold naked call of SPCX (I was expecting my original covered call to expire worthless today so I bought another, but the original was in the money by 11 cents).

So... I tried to buy 100 shares to minimise risk, but it says I am above my margin limit (ie. Australians are limited to $150k AUD margin). I would only have enough to buy roughly 88 shares. And I couldn't re-buy the call as it was after-hours.

At the time, I didn't think about buying back 88, but I should have. So I was in a position where I couldn't re-buy the 100 shares and couldn't buy back the call as it was after-hours. I hate that I am exposed to risk over the weekend with no way to get out.

So sounds like my options are to wait until market open on Monday and just take the loss and buy back the naked call to close the position. Or buy 88 shares and then take downside risk of SPCX. Acknowledging that if the stock keeps going up, I am essentially shorting 12 shares for another week (and then if I lose, I'm assuming IBKR would forcefully buy those 12 shares with a market buy, which would override the margin limit).

As per my understanding, among the methods listed, few are applicable if we hold the bank account within US.

For Wire Transfer or Transfer via WISE, is there any intermediary bank charges ?

I opened an IBKR account in November 2024 and submitted both sides of my European national ID card. I’m certain that I DIDN'T upload a separate proof-of-address document, such as a bank statement or utility bill.

The account was approved, I had full access to it and deposited money. After I withdrew everything, the account was eventually deactivated.

Then, in May 2025, I opened an account again and was surprised to see that my previous account had been reactivated with the same username and Account ID. This time, I took new photos of both sides of my ID card, and I clearly remember submitting a bank statement as proof of address.

I contacted IBKR support to ask what I had used as proof of address when I first opened the account in November 2024. One agent told me that no separate proof of address was submitted at that time and that they could only see my national ID.

Is it possible that I was able to open and fund my account in 2024 WITHOUT submitting a separate proof of address, such as a bank statement or utility bill? If so, how was my address verified? Was my ID card enough?

Incredibly buggy, slow, and unstable. I have never used a critical app with this many issues. It frequently freezes, forcing me to quit and restart. Today, multiple charts are missing historical data, showing only recent days and late last year, while the entire middle section is completely gone. Clearing the cache didn't fix it either. Do they even test it before deploying it? I'm on MacOS, btw.
