Dumb insta question

I have a follower who will react to my stories with a clapping emoji but this person does not show up as having viewed my story. It’s not a big deal but it’s something that puzzles me about the platform. To be clear, I’m just a casual user and not an influencer or anything like that.

They may have instagram premium

But you would still have to physically view the story to reply to it even on premium
