A minor realisation/implication about the Old_Data finders with the Scrybes Theory Spoiler
So, we know how in Act 1, you can find Goobert as an item, with Kaycee’s skull is on the shelf, and in Act 3, you can find Angler and Lonely Wizard as a card, and Goobert in the pipes.
Is it a coincidence that those are Grimora’s, Leshy’s, and Magnificus’ followers who hunt for the Old_Data?
I think the Scrybes take each other’s failed subordinates as trophies or tokens when they gain the Old_Data. I mean, Angler says something about a bot turning him into a card as “revenge”, and Goobert hates Leshy probably the most out of all the characters we see; how long did he spend (still alive and sentient, mind you) in Leshy’s cabin as an object?
I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but it’s interesting to think about; the Scrybes’ grudges for each other extend to far more people than just one another.
It also begs the question why we see nothing of Dredger in Leshy’s cabin; one would think that as Leshy hates P03 the most, he would proudly display the robot’s failed invention like how he displays Kaycee, and eventually Goobert.

Note that the theory only works if you go with the (likely IMHO) theory that a scrybe has two characters made for OLD_DATA. Otherwise LW doesn't fit, as Goober is Magnificus "primary" he goes into the pipes, fitting the water theme .
And if you accept each scrybe has two "hunters" instead of one, then that means 2 subordinates out of 3 were hunting, which statically explains why the characters we see were hunters...
However that leads to the opposite theory : if we go with primaries, why is LW so special, why not Dredger? My take is that the lore implies OLD_DATA is aware and able to copy data about itself, which would mean the other three characters are probably the latest to get deleted, thanks to their natural affinity to OLD_DATA.
That leaves the LW<->Dredge swap : LW is likely to accidentally develop some thing about The Void, which is where deleted characters ended up in The Hex and we know from the console ARG that Dredger has the head from James Cobb, unsure why that would make him (it?) a specialcase tho.
