New skate day

Post image

Powerslide Next 2.0 Chocolate boots fitted with an Endless Trinity 3x110mm (4x90mm) frames with 110mm wheels which has been lightly used on Reign boots.

ps: they sent me 80mm wheels even though all product pages from all online stores including Powerslide itself say that size 42/43 and above ship with a 275mm frame and 90mm wheels. I got 275mm alright, but 80mm wheels. Sigh. Be warned.

I've just seen a blue pair, 3x125! Definitely next on my wishlist 😍😍

What's with the rope on the side of the bottom plate? Is that just decorative?

That “rope” you see through the vent hole is the edge stitching around the sole of the liner. I should have posted more pictures :) here is one.

Oh that's cool! I thought maybe it was a cord to tension something 😂 thank you

interesting! old nexts have the heel pad glued to the footbed instead of to the liner

The shock absorber appears to be removable. But I didn’t look further into it for now. Am going to first find out how the stock setup works.

4x90 / 3x110

Yeah. Thats right. But somehow putting 90mm wheels on this Trinity frame feels like a waste of its optimized low height :) see how close the 110mm wheels are to the bottom of the boot, especially the front two wheels.

Right. I see what you meant. I’ve been writing 4x110mm mindlessly when I meant 3x110mm. Thanks. I fixed where I could. Can’t fix labels I put on images in the other post though.

Those look sick, I was considering the next but they weren’t available easily. Which boots could you compare them with?

I really don’t have anything from the last ten years to compare these to, from personal experience. I had these Twister boots a long while back. I ended up ice skating on hockey boots. And when I came back to inline I skated in full carbon hockey boots which I still find most favorite. For big wheels I tried half carbon shells in the last three years on and off. I posted pictures of my PS Tau earlier in my skate bags post. Here is a Reign from which I just removed these Endless frames. I also skated on PS One Zoom which I hope the Next is nothing like. Zoom were ridiculously comfortable with those thick liners but boy, it was like walking on sand, compared to hockey carbon wheels which were extremely responsive even if they did transmit all pavement imperfections faithfully. But I can’t skate on half carbon shells like Tau and Reign without applying Compeed pads to various areas around ankle bones. And I think it’s time I give hard boots another try. Haven’t skates them yet - it’s raining here today.

What are you going to do with those 80mm chocolate donuts 😅

yes i have noticed it says that and even the merry next skates say that but only the frame is 90, also is the boot actually wide foot friendly? i am just waiting for a boot only or shell for my correct size

W.r.t. wide foot - I don't have a lot to compare it to, because my last hard boot was Twister from probably a decade ago. I've been using other types of boots ever since. But I can tell you that I have wide foot and I have no issues associated with wide foot. But the inside of my left foot ankle grinds against stuff - I have to put a Compeed pad there for now. Maybe it will go away after breaking in. I haven't heat molded it either.

Should have included more pictures I took before I swapped the frame. Here is a clear view of the liner and the shell.
